First brewery is for their Pontoon Pour Lime . An amazing porch sipper for these hot and muggy end of summer days. Just the right amount of lime and a smooth malty finish. Worth the stop if you are in ! .

We’ve got some BIG news to share, but this time it’s GOOD. 🍻

Hop & Barrel is proud to announce a unique and exciting new partnership with our friends at Liftbridge Brewery in Stillwater, MN!

In a time when the craft beer world has been facing some serious headwinds, we’re charting a new course. One that focuses on collaboration, creativity, and the community values that make the St. Croix Valley so special.

Here’s what this means:
👉 Hop & Barrel is staying independent.
👉 Lift Bridge will be handling our brewing operations going forward.
👉 We’ll be working together on sales and marketing where it makes sense for our customers.
👉 You’ll still be seeing your favorite H&B beers, just brewed with a bit of Lift Bridge muscle behind them.

We’re calling this what it truly is: a collaborative survival story. In an era where small breweries are disappearing every week, we’re trying something different. We’re pooling resources, sharing knowledge, and raising a glass to what’s possible when neighbors come together.

🍺 What beers can you expect to see?
Look out for Minnesconsin, Crooked Grin, the Breaker Series Shandies, and of course, Cookie Lager all headed back to shelves and draft lines soon.

📦 Cans and kegs are in the works, with details dropping in the coming weeks. We’re aiming for a full market return in Q3 of this year.

This is a celebration. This is hope. This is what it looks like when local beer fights back.

Wild Mind is the latest Minnesota brewery looking to shut its doors. What do you think? Is this the end of an era?

We want to share that Wild Mind Ales and Wild Grind Coffee will be closing permanently in the near future, likely at the end of summer - maybe with a little luck we will last until the snow starts flying. While we don’t have an exact date yet, we felt it was important to let you know now.

It’s hard to put into words what this place has meant to us and, we hope, to you. From early morning coffee conversations to late-night beers with friends, this space has been alive because of the people who’ve walked through its doors - staff and patrons. We’ve celebrated, learned, grown, and connected here, and we’re grateful for every single moment.

As we write the final pages, we’d love for you to stop in, share a cup, raise a glass (maybe even a porrone), and help us fill these last days with good energy and community.

The building and brands are currently for sale, and we’d love to find a buyer who will keep this space as an asset for the community. If you or someone you know is interested in carrying this space forward, please reach out directly through the Contact Us page on our website.

Mike’s Meeple Madness – California Common Ale

Made in collaboration with our good friends Will and Felix from .
This take on a California Common is anything but “common.”

Built on a base of trusty ol’ pale malt, with a supporting cast of Vienna, Munich, dextrin, steamed crystallized C3.5, and a sprinkle of carafa II de-husked for color.
We added just a couple small drops of clean Helios hops for balance and a bit o’ snap.
Fermented with a traditional Steam/Common yeast strain and given a mini-lager cold rest to get crispier—because why not, eh?

Malt-nuanced but still dang refreshing, this gem of a beer is perfect for gaming gatherings of all kinds. 🎲♟️
