Felicia Brookins is an award-winning author and screenwriter, and she is the founder of S.A.F.E S.P.A.C.E Theater Therapy. She joined Studio 3 to announce the third book in her series, Josie’s Ways of Grace. Sonya Allen joined her to discuss one of the series characters and how she brings her to life. Brookins will have a live reading and book launch on August 16th at the JSU E-Center at 4:00pm.

August 13th is National Filet Mignon Day! Shannon Lindell with TASTE Italian Kitchen joined Studio 3 with filet mignon to celebrate! She shared the different options you can find on the menu at the restaurant. She says you need reservations for the newest restaurant in Ridgeland.

Impression Books in Flowood has a new spot to relax and read! The new Reading Nook is added to the space. The store also offers “Blind Date With A Book” where you get a boxed book and found out what it is when you open it.

The Toast: Mimosa Festival will be in Jackson on October 19th at The Plant Venue. The event is billed as not an ordinary brunch. VIPs also get bottomless mimosas. The event raises funds for the Briarwood Arts Center, which provides art and other activities in the community at no charge.

The St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway is August 14th! You can still buy tickets to win the home. The house is worth $525,000. Tickets to enter to win are $100 and benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital - Mississippi and its fight against pediatric cancer. Studio 3 took a tour of the home.

Saturday, August 9th, Hip Hop duo Roger and Tena Long will host a workshop at the Mississippi Children's Museum at 1:00 pm. It’s part of the Musical Measures event at the summer exhibit Measurement Rules! Roger and Tena Long’s workshop is called Party Animals where children will use their imagination to create animal dances. The group demonstrated part of it on Studio 3.
