The Book of Enoch postdates the Talmud and predates the New Testament. It is one of the first places to mention the Archangel Raphael. Catholics know him from the Book of Tobit, but Martin Luther had that chapter tossed, and subsequent mythologies that sprang up aren't helpful. Aurora, mother of Lucifer and Uriel, makes her debut in Rome around 300 CE. Mostly, her arrival seems to have come from mixing the Light Bringer and Guardian of Tartarus myths together.

Bonus? I'm bending things even more to try and tell a linear story. The good news is, this is turning out great. The bad news is theology purists are going to want my head on a pike.

For those keeping score, I threw out Genesis, broke Purgatory, and absolutely ran with the idea that angels have no defined gender. They're angels, not tourists from Idaho.
