Coming soon on Cruisin Records! If you are in New York, check out the release party details below. Album drops October 8th and the very Limited Edition LP is beautiful and now available for pre-order. Get one while you can.

In 2010, A.K. Burns and A.L. Steiner released the now hirstorical* Community Action Center, a feature-length socios*xual video created with an intergenerational community of artists and performers, set to a soundtrack of music culled from the worldwide systerhood. As an archive of relationships built on collaboration, friendship, s*x, and art, the video sought to expose and reformulate paradigms typical of p**n typologies, intentionally exploiting tropes for their comical value, critical consideration, and historical homage. Reflecting on the cultural realness of homo-grown le***an s*xuality, the work aimed to be a hedonistic and distinctly political adventure.

On the cusp of the project’s 15-year wo/manniversary, with the video still circulating internationally, Burns and Steiner along with Cruisin’ Records are releasing the dynamic soundtrack as the full digital album available on Bandcamp, as well as a limited edition vinyl LP featuring only previously unreleased tracks.  We welcome the rebirth of the unique and singular sound art components of this project into the world!

Artists featured on the soundtrack (in order of appearance) are Mx. Justin Vivian Bond, Tri-State Area with AV Linton, Chicks on Speed, Nick Hallett with Sam Greenleaf Miller, Electrelane, Light Asylum, Effi Briest, NGUZUNGUZU, Le****ns On Ecstasy, MEN, Sergei Tcherepnin, I.U.D., Thee Majesty, Kinski, Chateau featuring K8 Hardy and Motherland.

Oct 8 @ The Kitchen, NYC, 7-9pm - official soundtrack release event with live performances by Mx. Justin Vivian Bond and Shannon Funchess https://thekitchen.org/on-view/community-action-center-the-soundtrack/

Oct 16 @ Light Industry, in conjunction with MIX NYC, Brooklyn NY @ 7:30pm - screening of Community Action Center (2010, 69 mins), following by a talkback with David Velasco, A.L. Steiner + A.K. Burns https://lightindustry.org/cac

Tabitha, the new album from Sasha Bolof, is out today on Cruisin Records.

After dropping her moniker, Stres, Sasha Bolof returns with a warm and uptempo indie rock album, blending dream pop and post punk. Rich textures and haunting melodies set the back drop for complex drum patterns and loud fuzzed out guitars. All while having lyrics about about class politics, environmentalism and trans identity.

After moving to Los Angeles she recruited drummer Casey Deitz and long time friend and collaborator, Erik Blood, to record and mix the album. The end result is Tabitha. 10 songs about everyday people that may or may not exist. And how their material conditions shape their lives and world view. Touching on themes of activism, alienation, springtime, and personal truth hidden within. Narrated by singer Andrea Zollo, playing the part of the titular character, Tabitha. From start the to finish, each songs invokes the feeling of the spring. Where flowers bloom and the possibility of new beginnings. Even if those feelings are fleeting, the listener’s left with the warmth of the sun and the song birds of May.
