Nestled in suburban Southern California, just 20 miles from downtown Los Angeles, beautiful Covina attracts young professionals, families, and retirees alike. But many felt isolated, as if they were “the only Jew in town.”

She served the Jews of central Massachusetts since 1947, altering generations.

In 1953, Rochele Fogelman, then serving as a Chabad-Lubavitch emissary in Worcester, Mass., brought a group of women from her community for a private audience with the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory. As the Rebbe began to speak, he saw Fogelman taking notes.

The center will serve young Jewish professionals and the broader Jewish community downtown.
