Landfill open Saturday for storm cleanup

Due to the recent storm experienced in the City of Junction City on 8/19/2025, Geary County Public Works will be opening the Geary County Landfill on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to aid in cleanup efforts. As a reminder, tree limbs and brush debris ONLY are accepted at this site.

All commercial contactors must still weigh at the Geary County Transfer Station, located at 1509 N Perry, to pay the applicable fees to use the tree disposal site. Tree and brush debris disposal is free to Geary County / City of Junction City residents only.

*Reminder, Geary County has the right to assess fees for an illegal dumping of materials / items that are not authorized at this site.
