Do you have a piece of history within your family film waiting to be discovered?
We processed some 8mm film with sound for a family recently. Within their collection was a reel taken of a high school play which a singing group made up of 2 boys and 1 girl. Each one of the teens sang a solo part and the girl, who was very beautiful with long blond hair had a very beautiful voice. After she sang her part she fidgeted her fingers together and giggled as if she was excited and very nerves. When the owner of the film came to pick it up the DVDs I showed him the clip and ask if he know who the girl was. He got a disbelief look on his face and stated that he had no idea that he had that film within his collection. He told me that his brother had dated that girl in high school. It was Janis Joplin and that was the first time that she ever sang on a stage in front of an audience. I was surprised as she did not look nor sound anything like the rock singer that I was familiar with. What a discovery.

We just finished a project for Western Piedmont Community College in North Carolina. We converted some 16mm training films to HD DVD. One of the requirements to do business with the college was to become an authorized service provider for the state of North Carolina. I am proud to say, we were accepted.

Take a look at one of our new projects we just completed. 1949 - 1950 cardboard records, yes they are really made of cardboard with family members singing and talking about family. We just converted the audio from these records onto a CD.

Some days it just becomes all too clear why you chose to do what you do:

Testimonial received today - The cover picture you captured from the film and placed on my wife's DVD is of her mother. You know that you must be doing it right when a lady, at a business meeting walks up to you in tears, hands you a camera bag and simply says; I am entrusting this to you to put onto a DVD for me and then walks away. Then you find out that her father just passed away and the video tape of his funeral is still in the camera. It is truly an honor to be able to preserve family history and to get to share in personal moments such as these.

I wanted to thank you for work you did on the Christmas Film to DVD. As I mentioned, my bother was in town over the last weekend and was able to watch the Blue-ray / DVD. He really liked them and said the color and quality was better than he expected. Bill S.

A lady brought us some 8mm film to convert to HD DVD. We try to get a feel for the video and place 9 key pictures on the DVD case showing what is on the DVD. When she saw the pictures on the cover she sat down and a few tears came out of her eyes. After a few moments she told me that one of the pictures on the cover was of her uncle. He was killed in Viet Nam and the family had almost no pictures of him. No one knew that some of the film was of him. I went back to the studio and captured some more pictures of him off the video and sent them to her so the family could have prints made.
