Hobbs & Friends Hobbs & Friends is a tabletop roleplaying game podcast. I invite a guest or two to discuss gaming and share information with my listeners.

Welcome to episode one of Hobbs & Friends. This is a show about Jason talking to a Guest in the RPG industry in an effort to learn more about the Industry and the people that engage with it. The show currently has four segments. First we must introduce Hobbs’ friend. Second they chat about games they’ve been playing together or playing in general. They’ve cover thoughts on the game, the style or m

echanics of the game, and their favorite moments of the game. It’s a personal reflection and borders a bit on a review without being quite that formal. Third they spotlight an OSR product. Last they chat about something happening in the OSR, be it another product, some bit of news, an article someone wrote, or other miscellany.

I attended North Texas RPG con as a special guest back in June this year. it was an incredible time and my appreciation knows no bounds. I really missed those that couldn't make it this year, such as Levi Combs, Jon Davis, and, of course, Aaron Koleman. But, I was especially pleased to see those that could make it such as the wonderful staff and all my great friends in The Gamerhood and the rest of the convention beyond. I ran a couple sessions of White Sands, another session using Glynn Seals, Murder Ravens of Corvus Ren.

Forlorn Shores were 24/7 in the sponsored Gamerhood with Eric Hoffman, Paul Wolfe (and the Wolfe clan), and Thaddeus Moore.

Thank you so much to the staff, guests, and all the great congoers beyond!!

Had a truly wonderful time at North Texas RPG Con this past week/weekend. Special thanks to Gary Oliver and Michael Badolato for allowing Eric Hoffman Paul Wolfe Tg Mo (when though he didn't make it) and I to sponsor a Gamerhood room with two tables. We did playtests of Wetwired, many Forlorn Shores sessions, Low Fantasy Gaming, Neoclassical Geek Revival ran by Stu Clark and a 6 hour session of Legendary Kalmatta foe my good friend Aaron Koelman ! And that was just my experience at The Gamerhood.

So many great conversations with the likes of Levi Combs (loved that Planescape game) Skeeter Green Ian McGarty Erik Tenkar Courtney Campbell Allan T. Jr. Grohe Jon Hershberger James Shields Greg Gillespie Brenda Lynn Wolfe and many, many more. Happy to finally meet Thom Wilson !
