We love our friends at Raskel's Rescue!
Let's just call it as it is.
As many of you know, we are still a newer shelter, having opened our doors October of 2023. In that short time, we have done a whole lot. We have adopted out 816 animals. We have worked towards renovating a shelter that used to be a kennel and desperately needed upgrades. We have opened a cattery. We have formed partnerships with other shelters and rescues as well as with Hardeeville Animal Control. We are super pleased with all that we have done but, boy, we did not anticipate the costs. And, as we all know, costs of everything have gone up lately!
In addition to that, we have hit some serious set backs lately. Within the past 6 months, both air conditioning units have needed to be replaced. Let's be real, it's hot out and the dogs need that AC! (And so does the menopausal staff!!!). Lately, we have seen vet costs rise, especially with Gary Jr in house! We have gotten in and had to make accommodations for farm animals and farm animals are not cheap at all! Basically, a whole lot of things are adding up is what it comes down to.
We know everyone is struggling right now and we hate to ask for help, but it's just been a bit rough lately and we could use a little extra help. So, if you can spare a bit, we would really appreciate it! Every bit helps!
