Blockhead Productions was born out of the passion for filmmaking, and all of its aspects. Owner, Mike Witzer started Blockhead in a small central Florida town called Sarasota. It was here that Mike grew up and has always been involved in video production, dating as far back as 6th grade as a part of a technology based “team” that produced the schools morning news. It was here where that the passion and drive for production was really ignited. Throughout his educational years, Mike was involved in TV Production and other local organizations doing internships at the age of 15. He took that drive and decided this was his path, and from there the vision of Blockhead Productions was starting to come to fruition.
Fast forward to 2011, with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Digital Film and Video Production degree under his belt, Mike was ready to show the world what he had, and all he’d learned through his schooling. After attending college in Tampa, he moved back to Sarasota to establish a name for himself in the arts and cultural communities. After spending 5 years building a large client base, as well as working with other established companies such as Studio217, Young Professionals Group, Dentsply Sirona, and many more, Blockhead Productions was really gaining exposure and a reputation for quality work in the area.
In 2018, Blockhead Production relocated to the Denver, Colorado area. It was time we made a change and jumped from small coastal town to somewhere completely different. Mountains. Denver provided a culturally diverse demographic, a large arts community, and loads more people. The move to a new market like this provided us the chance to establish roots in a growing market like Denver’s.
As of 2019, Blockhead Productions has once again moved. This time, back to our roots in Sarasota. Luckily through the years we’ve maintained great long last relationships with our clients and when they heard we were ready to serve the Suncoast again, they were thrilled!
