Students at Aligarh Institute of Technology (AIT) have created Pakistan’s first ablution (wuzu) water recycling system called "Nahr Al Khair" to save water and tackle environmental issues.

Installed at Jamia Masjid Ali in Karachi’s Buffer Zone, the system uses a three-stage filtration process with natural materials like stones, gravel, and charcoal to clean used ablution water.

The purified water is then absorbed into the ground, helping recharge groundwater.
