Production on our feature film is still going strong, but with the recently announced changes coming to Facebook, it has become clear this is no longer a viable platform for my small business and I have decided it's time for us to swim along.

Yesterday was the 35th Anniversary of Disney's "The Little Mermaid" - the movie that sparked my imagination and made me want to draw when I was a toddler. It's probably the piece of media that's had the biggest impact on my life, and continues to into adulthood.

Ariel has left an impact that most creators can only dream of. I don't think I'll ever be able to make something that resonates with so many people the way she has, but all versions of The Little Mermaid have been an incredible North Star for so many q***r artists & storytellers - myself included

Tired of living alongside those she doesn't agree with, Voda Yaga does the only thing a reasonable Sea Witch can do: Release a Red Tide Monster that will kill everything in the ocean, leaving her as the de facto ruler! Who cares if that will cause ecological collapse, leading to the demise of the entire planet - she'll have power when it happens, and that's good enough for her! Sirenetta had better stay out of her way, because Voda Yaga is destined for the kind of greatness that can't possibly be a delusion of grandeur.

Anxious. Awkward. Archie. They've never been on their own before, let alone been on land, so they must have a really good reason for leaving the sea behind! Discovering a witch casting a spell to drain all life from the ocean probably counts, so we can cut this nervous merperson some slack. Feeling alone can be scary, but Nettie might be the perfect part-time mermaid to show Archie that they're not as alone as they think.
