This is my little Homie, Fuday. My Dawg, if you will.
He’s a Shih Tzu-Teddy Bear Yorkie.
He was born on April 1, 2025 yep April fools Day. But he’s no fool. He’s my awesome little companion. So I got creative with naming him because I consider him a blessing from God. So I took “Foo” from “April Fool’s Day“ and converted it into “Fu” to create a more inspiring name to fit this little being that God sent me.
“Fu” (福) in Chinese is one of the sweetest, most feel-good words they have. It basically means:
✨ Good fortune
✨ Blessings
✨ Happiness
✨ Prosperity
✨ Good luck (which I interpret as God Willing)
It’s the kind of word folks put all over their homes, especially during Chinese New Year. You’ll see the character 福 hung on doors — sometimes even upside down — because “Fu upside down” sounds like “good fortune has arrived.” Cute, right?
So calling Fuday is always calling for another Blessed Day.
Thank God for every Blessed Day.
