Happy International Men’s Day!
Today we celebrate the men who lead with kindness, support their families and communities, and strive to be positive role models. It’s also a day to highlight men’s health, encourage open conversations about mental well-being, and recognize the importance of healthy masculinity.

Let’s appreciate the men who uplift others, challenge stereotypes, and work toward a more compassionate and equal world. 💙

Service Above Self

True leadership isn’t measured by titles or recognition—it’s reflected in the quiet, meaningful choices we make to put others first. Service above self is the belief that our greatest impact comes from lifting those around us, giving without expecting anything in return, and choosing compassion over convenience.

Whether it’s offering a helping hand, standing up for someone who needs support, or committing time and energy to a cause bigger than ourselves, these acts shape communities and inspire others to do the same.

When we lead with service, we create a ripple effect of kindness, purpose, and positive change.

Today we recognize World Diabetes Day, a global reminder of the growing impact of diabetes and the importance of awareness, early detection, and compassionate support. This year, we highlight the power of education—empowering people to understand the symptoms, manage the condition, and prevent complications.

Whether you’re living with diabetes, supporting someone who is, or simply learning more, your awareness can make a difference. Small steps—healthy eating, physical activity, regular check-ups—add up to big change.

💙 Let’s stand together to promote prevention, improve access to care, and support a healthier future for all.

The Measure of Truth: The Story of Herbert J. Taylor’s Four-Way Test

During the dark days of the Great Depression, a young business executive named Herbert J. Taylor faced an enormous challenge. He had just been asked to save a nearly bankrupt company, the Club Aluminum Products Company of Chicago. Debts were mounting, morale was low, and employees had lost faith that the business—or their jobs—would survive.

Taylor believed that the company’s recovery couldn’t depend only on sales or marketing—it had to begin with integrity. Sitting alone in his office one evening, he opened his Bible, prayed for guidance, and began to write a simple code of ethics. He wanted a test of conduct—something brief, universal, and easy for every employee to remember and live by.

After several drafts, he wrote these 24 timeless words:

“Of the things we think, say or do:
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?”

He shared the Four-Way Test with his team, urging them to use it in every decision—whether speaking to customers, dealing with suppliers, or working with one another. Slowly, something remarkable happened. The company began to rebuild its reputation. Trust grew. Employees took pride in their honesty. Customers returned.

Within a few years, the struggling company became profitable again—not because of clever marketing, but because its people chose integrity over expedience.

Years later, when Herbert Taylor became a leader in Rotary International, he offered the Four-Way Test to Rotary as a gift—believing that what had saved one company could help guide the world.

And so, a simple set of 24 words—born from a moment of crisis and faith—became a global beacon for truth, fairness, goodwill, and mutual benefit.

🌍 World Kindness Day – November 13 💛

We celebrate the simple yet powerful act of kindness. A small gesture — a smile, a kind word, helping hand, or moment of understanding — can ripple outward and make the world a gentler place.

Let’s use this day as a reminder that kindness isn’t just an act, it’s a habit. Whether it’s reaching out to a friend, showing appreciation to a coworker, or offering compassion to a stranger, every act counts.

✨ Be kind to others. Be kind to yourself.
Together, we can make kindness the norm — not the exception. 💫

Veterans Day is a time to honor and thank all who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Celebrated each year on November 11, it marks the anniversary of the armistice that ended World War I in 1918.

It’s a moment to reflect on the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of the men and women who have defended our freedoms—past and present. Whether through a quiet moment of gratitude, attending a local ceremony, or simply reaching out to a veteran to say “thank you,” we can all take part in recognizing their service.

🇺🇸 Happy Veterans Day — we honor your service and sacrifice.

Arthur Frederick Sheldon was one of the key founding figures of Rotary International, an organization that began in 1905 as a small group of professionals dedicated to fellowship and service. Sheldon was not only a co-founder but also a guiding intellectual force behind Rotary’s ethical and service-oriented philosophy. A successful businessman and educator, he famously coined the phrase “He profits most who serves best,” a principle that became a cornerstone of Rotary’s mission. Sheldon believed deeply in the power of personal integrity, education, and service to humanity as essential elements of both business success and community well-being. His ideas helped shape Rotary into a global movement committed to leadership, ethics, and humanitarian service.

True happiness doesn’t come from what we get — it comes from what we give. Givers find joy in lifting others, sharing time, kindness, or resources without expecting anything in return. When we give, we connect, create meaning, and remind ourselves that life is bigger than our own needs.

Takers chase satisfaction but rarely find it for long. Givers, on the other hand, build fulfillment that lasts — because generosity nourishes both the heart that gives and the one that receives.

In the end, happiness isn’t about accumulation. It’s about contribution. 💛

The Rotary Foundation, one of the world’s most respected charitable organizations, began with the vision of Arch C. Klumph, the 6th president of Rotary International.

In 1917, during the Rotary International Convention in Atlanta, Klumph proposed the creation of an endowment “for the purpose of doing good in the world.” That simple yet profound idea laid the foundation for what would become a global force for peace, health, and humanitarian service.

From an initial contribution of just $26.50, The Rotary Foundation has grown into a powerhouse that funds thousands of projects each year — from eradicating polio and providing clean water, to supporting education, maternal health, and community development worldwide.

Arch C. Klumph’s foresight reminds us that great change often begins with a single act of generosity and a clear purpose. His legacy continues to inspire Rotarians everywhere to serve humanity with compassion and integrity.

🕊️ “Doing good in the world” — Arch C. Klumph’s vision lives on in every Rotary project today.
