Small outage in Thomaston :

According to Eversource, as of 7:15 PM, 74 customers in the Prospect Street/Broadview Heights area are without power due to a tree down on lines. The current restoration estimate is 11PM. If you are a Thomaston resident in need of a warming center, the Thomaston Ambulance Garage is available on an as needed basis. Contact Thomaston Police Deptartment at 860-283-4343 to make arrangements.

Dealing with Winter can be a lot! Staying healthy in the cold, and dryness inside can be a challenge. We got some useful tips on "Morning Live" today from Community Health & Wellness APRN Kyle Durand. Kyle dispensed advice about layering up, using suncreen, being careful with indoor fires, dry air, and knowing HOW to fall on ice! Thanks, Kyle!

Due to weather forecasts indicating that over the next few days Connecticut will experience a period of frigid conditions with wind chills dipping into the single digits, I am directing the state's Severe Cold Weather Protocol to go into effect beginning the evening of Monday, January 6, until the afternoon of Thursday, January 9. Shelters and warming centers are available across Connecticut. To find a location near you, call 2-1-1 or view the list at 211ct.org.

It's back! The "Possum Queen Festival and Auction". Board of Director members Patty Buonocore and John Bongiorno joined "Morning Live" to invite everyone to Crystal Peak in Winsted for the Entertaining fund raiser starting at noon New Years' Day! It raises tens of thousands every year to benefit neighbors and friends suffering tough times here in Litchfield County. Enjoy! and Happy New Year!
