Another carload of shelf-stable meals and pantry items will be heading to Community Action in the morning. Alan Fabel delivered the first batch last Monday, and reported that two of the meal kits were immediately given to individuals who had just arrived in need of assistance.

If you didn’t get in on the first round, 10 more ziplock bags with recipes/shopping lists are on the table in the narthex! You can fill it up yourself or leave a ten dollar donation and the items will be purchased for you. Thank you for making a difference!

The Giving Tree has returned just in time for holiday shopping! We have once again partnered with Community Action to provide a little Christmas joy for some families in need. Grab a tag (or two or three!) from the tree in the back of the sanctuary. Please return your UNWRAPPED items to the church before our wrapping party on SATURDAY, DEC. 13. Attach the colored tag to the gift so it gets to the correct recipient. Any questions, ask Cyndy or Stacey.

Want to assemble your own meal-in-a-bag kits for a food pantry, little food pantry box, or neighbor in need? Click on the link below for 10 different recipes that contain all the ingredients for a meal for four people. You'll need a 2-gallon bag storage bag (the Wal-Mart Great Value brand works nicely). The only ingredient not included is water, and maybe salt and pepper. You might also want to include an inexpensive can opener if you have cans without pulltabs. Make sure to enclose a copy of the recipe, and your meal kit is ready for donating!

Thanks to your generosity, 12 meal-in-a-bag kits were assembled today! All money collected was spent on food, 2-gallon ziplock bags, and 10 can openers. These kits contain all the ingredients needed (except water) for a meal for four people. Stay tuned for a post with the recipes if you want to assemble your own meal kit for donation to a local food pantry or a neighbor in need. (Project inspired by Dollar Tree Dinners)

Children’s Sunday School will be learning about animals in the Bible this year. They started off today with an adorable craft!

Join us tomorrow (Sept. 7) for Rally Day!

Sunday School starts at 9 a.m. Worship will follow at 10 a.m. with Living Waters providing music. Pastor Dan Kuckuck from the Office of the Bishop will also be joining us. Plan to stay around afterward for treats and fellowship!

🥳 Almost 30 birthday cake kits are being distributed to Burlington food pantries this week! Thank you, Cindy Steflik, for coordinating this effort and to all who donated items and assembled kits. The food pantry workers and volunteers have been so appreciative and excited to receive them! 🎂
