Sunday School starts at 9 a.m. Worship will follow at 10 a.m. with Living Waters providing music. Pastor Dan Kuckuck from the Office of the Bishop will also be joining us. Plan to stay around afterward for treats and fellowship!

Welcome, Presiding Bishop Yehiel Curry! Bishop Curry has previously served as the bishop of the Metropolitan Chicago Synod. Prior to that, he was the pastor at Shekinah Chapel Lutheran Church in Chicago. He received his BA from Lewis University in Romeoville, Ill., and his MDiv from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. He and his wife, LaShonda, have three daughters.

We are pleased to announce the election of the Rev. Yehiel Curry as presiding bishop of the ELCA! Bishop-elect Curry was elected on the fifth ballot with 70.34% of the vote.

Ever-living God, strengthen and sustain Bishop-elect Curry, that with patience and understanding he may love and care for your people. Grant that together we may follow in the way of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

HOLDEN EVENING PRAYER - JULY 17 @ 6:30 PM

Join us tomorrow evening for a Vespers service based on the Annunciation to Mary, featuring scripture readings, silence, and song. It's a beautiful liturgy and takes only around 30 minutes to complete.

Join us in a few moments of common prayer every Sunday at 6 p.m. as we trust in God's leading.

Holy and loving God, look graciously on the people of Unity Lutheran Church, and be with us in this season of pastoral transition.

We ask for your encouragement, direction, and guidance for the members of our call committee. Grant them perception and faithfulness so they may hear your voice in all their deliberations. Be with our leaders and all who serve during this interim period.

Prepare the one who will come to walk with us on this journey – a pastor who will care tenderly for your people and equip us for the work you have given us to do. Guide them as they discern your call, and make us ready to welcome them with open hearts.

Through your Spirit, move us deeper into prayer and community with one another. Open our eyes to your faithful presence in Word and Sacrament. Strengthen our mission to proclaim the Gospel, love our neighbors, care for creation, and work for justice and peace.

In every step, remind us that you go before us, even when we cannot see the road ahead.

We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord,
