So sad to learn of the passing of our friend Mike Briggs.

His bio says, in part, "Mike Briggs holds Master's Degrees in History and in Music History and is a retired professor teaching in each of his Master's disciplines. He is also retired as a member of the California State Legislature. He is an avid reader and occasionally reviews books. He hosts the show, Briggs on Books."

But he was so much more than that. He was engaged in his community, a wonderful mentor and a sincere friend and cheerleader to all. He will be missed...

These are but a few of the books some of our Author Academy for Kids participants have authored and sold in stores world wide through the years. Today, we graduate two more participants! Won't you join us in celebrating them?

Third grader Jacqueline Vasquez created a thrilling adventure that centers on a curious creature known as the Slime Kitty. Fifth grader Serenity Grace Russell put together a heart-warming tale about a girl and the horse she loves. Both books will soon be available in stores across the globe!

But our program teaches more than just writing. It's a lesson in entrepreneurship and self sufficiency. We teach the children the entire process of creating a sellable book, and many of our students use the skills learned here to monetize their creativity and earn money doing something they love.

We truly believe all things are possible when you support a child. Each cycle we have talented elementary, middle and high school students who not only write beautiful books, but sell them in stores and earn income! (So much more fun than working fast food or cleaning yards for spending money! 💜 )
