No... Its not HAARP or the government making natural disasters.
HAARP does exist though. In Alaska... I'm not going into that here....
The sun is more active because it's currently in a phase of its 11-year solar cycle when its magnetic field is becoming more chaotic. This leads to more geo storms, spectacular displays of the northern lights, and more. The sun is also changing.
We are in Solar Cycle 25, and by current data, we are expected to hit solar maximum in late 2024-2025, so we can be sure to see more activity like recently in the year ahead.
Part of it is also because Cycle 24 was the lowest activity solar cycle (or close to it) in about 200 years.
Things are just starting to get back to "normal", although we don't really know what "normal" is, because we've only been tracking sunspots for a few hundred years. And the cycle has been super low for like 200+ years.
We are still learning new things and how solar weather affects weather patterns here on the surface of the planet. They could be related, but we just really don't know. We know solar activities affect earths tectonic plates, magnetic field, solar winds, and it could possibly affect more things, we just don't know yet.
