INTERNET SAFETY UPDATE: Are you safe? How can you know?

The war against malware (short for "malicious software") like viruses, spyware and rootkits is a constant cat-and-mouse game between malware writers and distributors (the "bad guys") and those who write, update and use antivirus and antimalware protection tools (the "good guys").

Thousands of new viruses and virus variants are released onto the Internet every day. Companies like Avira, Avast, AVG, ESET, Trend Micro, McAfee and Symantec employ thousands of researchers and software programmers who work all day long, every day doing nothing but trying to figure out ways to fight new and existing malware. They’ve got their hands full.

Science Museum Oklahoma presents Winter WonderLab for the holidays

Science Museum Oklahoma is debuting a new, hands-on holiday experience, Winter WonderLab, Saturday through Monday, Dec. 21 through 23, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are available now at smo.org/winterwonderlab.

At Winter WonderLab, guests can participate in holiday experiments and activities, including creating holiday-themed treats and gifts they can take home.

Delta Dental of Oklahoma (DDOK) and its Foundation, the state's leading contributors to dental health and education-related initiatives, recently brought their portable Cavity Prevention Clinics to Calvin Coolidge and Martin Van Buren Elementary Schools in the Oklahoma City Public School District.

A total of 79 second graders at Coolidge Elementary received oral health education and brush kits, and 27 students received dental assessments, fluoride varnish and/or sealants at the Cavity Prevention Clinic.

President-elect Donald Trump on Friday confirmed that Republicans will work together to ditch Daylight Saving Time, the practice of changing the clocks by an hour twice a year.

"The Republican Party will use its best efforts to eliminate Daylight Saving Time, which has a small but strong constituency, but shouldn’t! Daylight Saving Time is inconvenient, and very costly to our Nation," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump's comments came days after both of his newly appointed Department of Government Efficiency leaders – Tesla CEO Elon Musk and tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy – criticized the time-switching practice.

New Oklahoma Bill from new legislator (Representative Molly Jenkins) seeks to stop political parties from abusing Taxpayer Dollars 💸🚫

Political parties will be required to honor the will of their electorate or bear the cost if House Bill 1010, filed this week by Rep. Molly Jenkins, R-Coyle, becomes law.

According to a legislative staff press release, Jenkins filed H.B. 1010 "in response to actions by a small group of elite Democrat Party power brokers after they removed the candidate chosen in the March Oklahoma Democrat presidential preferential primary from the ballot.”

Jenkins' proposal would require political parties to honor the will of their voters or reimburse taxpayers for the cost of the election.

“Historically, we see very few visitors during these weeks, so this is an ideal time to close our centers for repairs and deep cleaning while limiting disruptions to the public as much as possible.
