Monday turns much drier, with mostly sunny skies, a high near 81 and north winds gusting up to 20 miles per hour. Monday night will be cooler, dropping to around 56.
The rest of the work week looks dry and pleasant, with sunshine Tuesday through Thursday, highs in the low to mid 80s and overnight lows in the low to mid 50s. Rain chances may return by next weekend.

Chattooga Middle School Advances To Championship Game - UPDATED

Chattooga Middle School is headed to the championship game after a dominating semifinal victory Saturday.

Chattooga defeated Darlington 52-8 in Saturday's semifinal matchup, earning a spot in the championship game next week.

The Indians will play for the championship on Thursday, October 8, against the winner of the Model-Pepperell semifinal game.

Saturday's 44-point victory sends Chattooga into the title game with an opportunity to finish its postseason run with a championship.

It’s a warm and unsettled Saturday across Chattooga County. Look for mostly cloudy skies with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly this afternoon. Some storms could bring locally heavy rainfall. Today’s high will be around 87.

Rain chances increase to 60 percent tonight, with a low near 68.

Sunday looks wet, with an 80 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms and a much cooler high around 76. Then drier, more fall-like weather arrives Monday, with sunshine returning and highs near 81.

The Chattooga Indians picked up their first win of the season Friday night, defeating Gordon Central 38 to 22 on Homecoming night at the Little Big Horn.

It was the biggest offensive night of the season for Coach Roone Gable’s Indians. Daysa Connie Martin was crowned the 2026 Homecoming Queen.

Trion had the week off. The Bulldogs return next Friday night when they travel to Greenville, while Chattooga is off next week before hosting Dade County on October 16.
