A Warrior's Destiny...

A warrior will stand alone - stand apart;

Early in the morning, late into the evening, a warrior will be training. We will not cease, we will not falter.

As we walk through the day, we watch the corners, the windows, and the doors, never knowing where the enemy lurks...

we fight not in anger or rage, but in love and faith. And so, while we walk through shadow and death, our soul, and our intention, remains pure.

We stand to stem the tides, to guard against the Darkness, fighting not for nation, nor government, but rather for community, for family.

And when our time comes, do not lament, for whether it's tomorrow, or decades from today, we have lived by our ethics, by our honor, and therefore leave behind the hope for brighter days.

"I walk through the darkness so that others may see the light."

"But..." I asked, "How can you be in darkness when you are my light?"

With glistening eyes she laughed gently;

Then after lifetimes that lasted a moment she drove away, tail lights shining in my eyes...

And I was left with naught but a whisper:

"For all sad words of tongue and pen, the saddest are these: 'It might have been'."

I always loved mythology 🏺✨; something that always stuck out at me was the name of the Devil, our quintessential "modern" bad guy: Satan 😈.

One interpretation is he is the bad guy, the evil in the world, etc. 🌍⚔️ But the essence of the devil (and subsequently demons) I think comes from the meaning of the name "Satan": Adversary.

He's there to challenge and tempt, to poke at the "lower self" innate within all of us... 🔥👁️

He's also there to challenge the righteous fury of God, the "higher self" also innate within all of us... ☁️⚡

So what if, instead of trying to cast out our demons, we acknowledge them, and more importantly, we acknowledge the lessons that they seek to teach us? 🧠💡

Instead of casting out, or of giving in...what if the lesson is to keep balanced ⚖️, and more importantly, to keep true to our Selves 💖, rather than the temptations of 'God' or 'Satan', in whatever form? 🔄🌀

The year of the snake, which officially began yesterday 1/29. Like any snake year, it's a year of transformation.

Everywhere I've been hearing about how something about this year feels different, that it's time to make a change, take some action.

And we all know that change doesn't just happen, it comes from within, a personal motivation. These past couple years this has been my focus, to find my meaning and my Why, and that has influenced already some powerful growth.

Regardless of where you're at, change is always possible. We grow and learn sometimes without even consciously realizing it. Keys to this include consistency and reliability.
