It is with great sadness that the Local Flavor family learned of the recent passing of Nicole Tipton. Nicole played a short, but integral role at the magazine as the head of production in 2009 and 2010. Her first-hand experience in the hospitality industry and her insights into the challenges that her generation faced gave her a voice at the magazine that was greatly needed and deeply appreciated.
There was no assignment too menial or too daunting for Nicole to tackle with grace and more than a little wry wit. She always carried herself with a calm and beautiful presence that filled a room. We were better for having known her and join the many who mourn her passing.
