Help us build a 10 day commercial free marathon for our sister station in Fort Walton Beach to close out the summer.

We are planning our 10 day end of summer music marathon starting Labor Day weekend. We Have a few hundred new songs going in- we need about 50-60 more songs. Boneheads please help us out with some more. Even if you’ve suggested it before and it didn’t make the cut. Please give us some deep cuts, one hit wonders, live cuts.

Let’s build a Fcking great 10 days of music together.

On our station in Fort Walton Beach we started playing an album in its entirety once a month last month. It’s been very well received so we wanna try this here next month.  What iconic album do you think we should play? Throw us some ideas.

Since we took over a little over a week ago we have been saying how we as a company like to take things to the next level and actully put thought into the listening experience.
Just wanted to back up that statement a bit with an actual example. Our station in Fort Walton Beach will be going commercial free for 10 days starting Labor Day weekend. This marks the forth time in 7.5 months there we did an ad free marathon.
Once we get a better grasp on this station, we will be doing cool s**t like this as well.

To stand by our promise to play significantly less ads than anyone else around- tonight starting at 8pm- 6am, there will only be four ads in that 10hour period.

Tomorrow starting at 5pm- 6am, there will only be 4 minutes of ads in the 13 hours.

To put this in perspective the amount of ads we are running reflect the only paid spots you were hearing, the rest was unpaid filler. There was enough filler that allows us to do almost a complete day of ad free music over weekend.

We do not do filler- we play more music!!!!

For those of you here for the music-tomorrow and Wednesday will both be commercial free from 7pm to 6am the following morning with RBG hand selecting the playlist. Enjoy!

As a station we are making our first commitment to this audience, we will be maxing out the commercial breaks at 3 minute stop sets. In comparison you were hearing 7 minutes per stop set- and usually full with a lot of filler ads. We don’t do the filler, if we have unsold inventoy we play more music ……

There are already very shortened breaks from what you’re used to hearing, give us a few days to get into it all. Good changes are coming……

A message from the new owners- JVC Broadcasting.

We are true old school radio people who put the listener ahead of anything else. We are now in the process of taking a hard look at every option for these stations to become the strongest they can possibly be. Our commitment is clear: to deliver a product that is second to none in the Florida Panhandle and provide a listening experience worthy of the audiences we serve.

One major change we have already made, is you will no longer hear all the commercials you have become used to – as we have eliminated over 90% of the non-local ads-that will not be returning - Which means more actual music being played.

Our team already operates some of the top-rated stations in the region, and we’re bringing that same proven approach here.

RBG and Roxy will remain on the team for the long term. Things may sound a little different for a few weeks, we ask for your patience as we’re under construction behind the scenes.
