One of our clients took some photos last year while tracking their thrash album. Rick performed on every instrument for this record, and even got featured on a couple vocal tracks. The man is a beast!

The first steps in recording the new singles for began this past weekend, and it sounds HUGE! Big drums, heavy bass, and a massive amount of heart coming from these guys keeping the torch ablaze for heavy metal. The drum kit was a Tama Rockstar, lots of microphones all around, and a sound that might Bob Rock crack a smile back in 1991.

Then we got some bass work done with and his Marcus Miller 5-string going into a Darkglass Microtubes head, following the DI into a pair of 1073 channels. Adam can be seen in the last photo with his best facial impression of The Thinker.

Eminence DV-77 “Divinity” // We’re really going to put this DV-77 speaker through its paces today. It’s going to replace one of the Celestion Vintage 30’s in our Overtōn Fountainhead 2x12 for contrast & comparison. New gnarly distortion tones incoming—

Do these guys know how to party or what?

The crew has been systematically ripping apart the studio for the past few weeks with a bunch of minor improvements that will add up to a BIG difference in workflow & comfort for our patrons. More electrical outlets, patch panels connecting the rooms, rearranging with a few new pieces of furniture, rehanging some of the doors & (soon after we get back to work) a new bathroom!
Thanks to Jim our building owner for being the goat, and all of you for being patient while we operated at partial capacity here. Hope to see you all again soon!

This was such a great summer, working with power metal masters Glacier in our second year at the Arlington spot. Lots of great shots of the studio at work in this video!
