Moon Best of California State Parks is out now!🌲 Hear what co-author Jenna Blough has to say about the process of writing this new book:

"Working on Moon Best of California State Parks gave me a wonderful excuse to revisit beloved places like Red Rock Canyon State Park and make time for new destinations and experiences. I took the Pacific Surfliner train to Santa Barbara’s old town, kayaked on the Central Coast, and visited a remote desert park on the Colorado River. I’m so excited to share my favorite spots!"

Today is Pub Day for Moon Best of California State Parks!!🎉 Hear what author Kayla Anderson has to say about this new title:

"Born and raised in Northern California, I have always loved camping, hiking, snowboarding, and being outdoors, thanks to my parents who took us to places like McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park and Sue-Meg. Our state is so rich in natural resources, native history, wildlife, and things to do for people of all ages. While I live in Lake Tahoe (close to Emerald Bay State Park, Ed Z'berg Sugar Pine Point SP, and D.L. Bliss) and visit those quite often, the research for this guide has allowed me to visit parks such as Point Lobos Natural Reserve, Big Basin, Indian Grinding Rock, and Calaveras Big Trees which have become my new favorites. However, every visit to any California state park on a quiet off-season day makes me fall in love with the Golden State all over again."

Happy publication day to Best of Yellowstone and Grand Teton! 🏔️ Our expert national parks author, Becky Lomax has this to say:

"Backpackers have an advantage to escape crowds. The TetonCrest Trail in Grand Teton is one of those places for finding pockets of solitude. The trail is uncrowded compared to the park's valley trails. The mountaintop route sends my heart soaring.Above Hurricane Pass and Schoolroom Glacier, I love turning east off the trail to climb up to the ridge for lunch with nobody else around and eyeful views of the back side of the Grand Teton. Jagged mountains traipse off in all directions from this top-of-the-world precipice, where after lunch, I have to tear myself away to descend the trail."

Happy publication day to Moon Camino de Santiago! 🥾 Here’s what author Beebe Bahrami loves about the Camino:

“Writing about the Camino de Santiago is a pilgrimage within a pilgrimage, each day an unknown, sprinkled abundantly with both gifts and challenges. And often, the two are bound together: The harder I work and dig into the great history, legacy, cultures, languages, traditions, and foods and wines of the Camino de Santiago in France, Spain, and Portugal, the more the remarkable gifts appear like trail magic. These can be hidden stories a local decides to tell me over an after-dinner drink or from stopping to talk--or better, help--as they stir a large pot of quince jam on a single burner set up in their front garden, or gather chestnuts in the local forest. These can be the many layers of an archaeological site that reveal deeper legacies or new insights about the Camino as a sacred landscape. These can be new revelations about a quiet hidden chapel in a corner of a familiar pilgrim church offering new meanings or deeper pre-Christian lineages. Each day is a wonder as I set off on foot, inquire, stop to talk, stay observant, note wildlife as much as local culture, and remain open to what the Camino has to teach me. Days are long. Nights are long. But it's all deeply worth it and greatly satisfying, not to mention a tremendous privilege to be deeply immersed in this remarkable pilgrimage trail and its legends, lands, and cultures.”

Our brand-new Moon Ireland guidebook is now available! 🍀

Here’s what author Cían Byrne loves about the Emerald Isle:

“Travelling the length and breadth of my home country of Ireland gave me an even deeper understanding of every nook and cranny on this rugged island. It's a country that wears many hats. Most know it for the world-famous pubs, but it's also an incredible foodie destination, a place to escape from it all on remote trails, and a country where you can relive layers of history all the way back to the Stone Age.”

Today is publication day for Moon North Carolina! 🎉

Hear what author Jason Frye has to say about this new edition:

"Writing guidebooks means you develop deep relationship with places - regions, cities, towns, shops, restaurants - as you return to them year after year. During the research for this edition of Moon North Carolina, I spent weeks on the coast catching some fabulous sunrises and sunsets and eating bushels of oysters. I visited mountain towns recovering from devastating floods, and the spirit, tenacity, and sense of community I found there was inspiring. I spent time exploring our cities via greenway, bike path, city sidewalk, and train, finding neighborhoods and pocket parks and new favorite restaurants. I find a lot of joy in rediscovering my state, in revisiting places I've vacationed and loved and called on for years, in acquainting myself with the changing face of North Carolina. It's fantastic here and I hope my book shows off the best of North Carolina to every reader and visitor."
