This page and the organization that followed, Emergent Order, was born with our Keynes vs. Hayek rap battles, which presented radically different worldviews with fairness and civility. And we could sure use some of that in 2023!

Everything we produce, and everything I put my creative energies in to, is about exploring ideas and values that empower people, explore freedom, and champion civilization at its best. We have thousands of high school teachers and college professors who use our videos in their classrooms. And there are many more who are good-hearted people devoted to fostering curiosity and life-long learning.

But it's become clear that our educational institutions on the whole have been corrupted by a barbaric utopian philosophy that pits groups against each other and embraces cancel culture and the politics of personal destruction. That barbarism has been on raw display in the aftermath and immediate response across the west to the Hamas assault on over 1400 innocent civilians in Israel.

Emergent Order stands not just against that attack, but against the barbaric culture of our most important institutions which make it more and more likely for tribal violence to replace civil discourse and healthy peaceful debate here at home.

This is our message.

This is my message.

It is forceful. It is personal. And, if you can stay to the end, it is ultimately positive and actionable. We can't vote our way to a civilized world. But we can build one if each of us embraces being civilized ourselves and models it for our kids.

SPECIAL NOTE: Russ Roberts, the co-creator of Fear the Boom and Bust AND Fight of the Century has been the president of Shalem College in Israel for the past few years, which means that Russ and his family are currently in harm's way.
