KRYK

KRYK Sunny 101 is a mix that sizzles! Fusing young adult alternative music with 80's, 90's and 00's hits Forecasts are updated immediately and often.

MUSIC – Fusing mass-appeal young adult alternative with 80’s, 90’s and 00’s CHR hits, the result is a fresh alternative to broad-based Adult Contemporary and youth oriented Current Hit Radio. “Hot AC” is a highly researched and audience tested music mix that features appealing on-air talent geared toward entertaining the 18 to 44 year old demographic. Current artists include Lady Gaga, Katy Perry

, Adelle, Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Gaven DeGraw, Colbie Caillat, Matt Nathanson and Maroon 5, along with established artists Gwen Stefani, Pink, Black Eyed Peas, Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, Avril Lavigne and Kelly Clarkson and superstars Billy Idol, John Mellencamp, Police and U2. While most Adult Contemporary stations play only the charts and limited recurrents, SUNNY 101 blends current, recurrent and late 80’s, 90’s and 00’s hits to create a mix that sizzles! FEATURES – Entertaining personalities bring you lifestyle information every hour, all day … nights too! HOT AC’s personality-packed format showcases an all-star air staff that has experience from the top stations in the country. The staff’s innovative presentation and knowledge of the latest trends attracts and entertains an active audience with feature programming that includes “Music Magazine” and “Retro Radio”. SPORTS – Coverage of sporting events throughout the Big Sky Country of Montana is no easy task. Team travel to great distances, communication logistics, scheduling conflicts and the huge amount of sports activities we broadcast require a well staffed, professional sports department that features four play-by-play announcers. WEATHER – We constantly monitor a variety of sources including the National Weather Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. We work diligently to keep our listeners current, with the latest climatic changes, disturbances and potential threats from adverse weather conditions. Not an easy task since our coverage area includes several distinct weather patterns that range in diversity from the Little Rockies and Bea Paw Mountains to the rolling plains north of the Missouri River and south through the Judith Basin. The responsibility of notifying our listeners when weather threatens a flash flood, tornado warning, severe thunderstorm activity or winter blizzard is serious business. We keep our listeners informed of potential or catastrophic conditions that are of concern, or worse, life threatening! COMMUNITY SERVICE – It takes an extraordinary commitment to important local concerns, integrity to strive for a balanced presentation of views and creativity to focus the public spotlight on the issues that matter. All radio is not created equal! It takes a talented team to crystallize radio programming that makes a difference and that’s why KRYK has been recognized by their peers for excellence in Community Service.

November Pony Post from Superintendent Gum:

Havre Public Schools just finished up its annual Learning Walks Program. Learning Walks combines the yearly facility inspection with educational updates from all building principals. Havre Public Schools has a dynamic group of educators who are committed to continually raising scores and creating a culture of excellence with our students.
The Havre Public Schools Education Foundation recently donated $15,000 to Havre High School to help with costs associated with our Dual Credit/Dual Enrollment Program. Havre High School has 242 students participating in this program. Havre High School has done a magnificent job providing these opportunities for the students within our community.
The Havre FFA was in Indianapolis this past week participating in the National Convention. This program has continued to grow in enrollment each year and does such an outstanding job providing students with career-related opportunities for their future. Cross Country and Football also wrapped up their seasons last week, with the Volleyball team heading to Divisonals on November 6-8th, in East Helena.
In closing, I would like to highlight additional new staff members. Sunnyside Intermediate is excited to bring on Carson Lunak to teach at the end of this month. Havre Public Schools also has a host of new paraprofessionals this year. Melissa Daniels, Cara Fanning, Tina Walin, Tiffany Warren, Hailey Finneman, Jackie Bradshaw, Megan Chapman, Jaden Denson, Stacy Ceynar, Lauren Miller, Carolyn Sheppard, Adisyn Olson, Brooklyn Minden, Cadence Kallenberger, Eva Williams, and Jeralynn Verploegen. Ashley Pomeroy rounds out our new hires this year providing services in our Blue Pony Daycare.
If you have any questions at any time, please reach out to me directly!
Sincerely,

Brian Gum

Hill County Plant a Seed Read Opens Play to Learn Center to the Public:

(NMB) The Hill County Plant a Seed Read Program opened up their Play to Learn Center to the public on Tuesday. A project that was three years in the making. Plant a Seed Read Executive Director Erika Cervantes explains what the Play to Learn Center is.

"We wanted to create a place where kids can come, learn with parents and have a place that's safe and something that kids can come to year-round."

The space is designed for children ages 2 to approximately 12 years of age. Once inside, Cervantes says parents and children will find six exhibit or play areas, where children can learn through hands on experiences.

"We have a technology center, we have a light brite, we have a medical center, we have a grocery store, we have a quiet area with books, we have a construction zone and a toddler section just for under two years old, so they have their own safe space."

There is also a multifunction area for art classes and parties.

The Play to Learn Center is in the Atrium Annex in downtown Havre. Operating hours are Tuesday through Friday from 1pm until 5:30pm and the first and third Saturday of the month from 11am until 5pm. The cost is $7.00 for ages 2 and up, under two is free and you can stay as long as you like. For all the details call the Plant a Seed Read office at 406-400-2529

Please avoid this area to allow for safe and efficient repairs. The City of Havre will update this information as soon as possible.
