Our Story
MUSIC – Fusing mass-appeal young adult alternative with 80’s, 90’s and 00’s CHR hits, the result is a fresh alternative to broad-based Adult Contemporary and youth oriented Current Hit Radio. “Hot AC” is a highly researched and audience tested music mix that features appealing on-air talent geared toward entertaining the 18 to 44 year old demographic. Current artists include Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Adelle, Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Gaven DeGraw, Colbie Caillat, Matt Nathanson and Maroon 5, along with established artists Gwen Stefani, Pink, Black Eyed Peas, Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, Avril Lavigne and Kelly Clarkson and superstars Billy Idol, John Mellencamp, Police and U2. While most Adult Contemporary stations play only the charts and limited recurrents, SUNNY 101 blends current, recurrent and late 80’s, 90’s and 00’s hits to create a mix that sizzles! FEATURES – Entertaining personalities bring you lifestyle information every hour, all day … nights too! HOT AC’s personality-packed format showcases an all-star air staff that has experience from the top stations in the country. The staff’s innovative presentation and knowledge of the latest trends attracts and entertains an active audience with feature programming that includes “Music Magazine” and “Retro Radio”. SPORTS – Coverage of sporting events throughout the Big Sky Country of Montana is no easy task. Team travel to great distances, communication logistics, scheduling conflicts and the huge amount of sports activities we broadcast require a well staffed, professional sports department that features four play-by-play announcers. WEATHER – We constantly monitor a variety of sources including the National Weather Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. We work diligently to keep our listeners current, with the latest climatic changes, disturbances and potential threats from adverse weather conditions. Not an easy task since our coverage area includes several distinct weather patterns that range in diversity from the Little Rockies and Bea Paw Mountains to the rolling plains north of the Missouri River and south through the Judith Basin. The responsibility of notifying our listeners when weather threatens a flash flood, tornado warning, severe thunderstorm activity or winter blizzard is serious business. We keep our listeners informed of potential or catastrophic conditions that are of concern, or worse, life threatening! Forecasts are updated immediately and often. COMMUNITY SERVICE – It takes an extraordinary commitment to important local concerns, integrity to strive for a balanced presentation of views and creativity to focus the public spotlight on the issues that matter. All radio is not created equal!
