Saying goodbye to Bruno after 4 months was filled with so many emotions…

Looking back at our journey, it’s been quite the ride. Bruno has been the most challenging case I’ve ever taken on. His triggers felt so unpredictable and often left me feeling helpless, but with time, we slowly made progress. Despite our setbacks, his transformation is undeniable. I couldn’t be more proud of him and our journey.

On our last night, we cuddled for hours as I said my goodbyes. I was filled with sadness, but also overwhelmed with gratitude. Bruno taught me so many difficult yet beautiful lessons about life and love. He has been one of my greatest teachers.

Now, he’s moved on to his next chapter. A wonderful woman named Angela has stepped in to give Bruno a chance at a forever home. Although it will take time to see if this is the right fit for him, the hope is that he will continue to grow and flourish as she continues to work through his emotional triggers.

A big thank you to for making this video possible and generously donating to The Happy Kitty Rescue! I am so grateful for their support and the impact they’re making in the whole rescue community. Every purchase made with Furbo helps improve the well-being of rescued pets by providing meals, shelter, training, and more.

I’ve especially loved having our Furbo Cat Camera to capture all our precious moments and keep an eye on the babies when I’m not home. Furbo is also sending Angela & Bruno a new camera to continue keeping an eye on our boy! Thank you, 🄰

Bruno may be a genius šŸ¤“

When I consulted a cat behaviorist, she strongly recommended clicker training to help curb unwanted behaviors, like Bruno attacking my legs when I leave the room.

Clicker training is a positive reinforcement method where you use a clicker (in my case, I just used my mouth) to mark desired behaviors. When your cat performs the behavior you want, you click and immediately reward them with a treat! Over time, they will learn to associate the click with a positive experience.

We started by associating a click with a treat. Then we moved onto trying to learn sit and stay! And to no surprise, Bruno picked it up within minutes 🤭

One unexpected benefit has been the trust it has built between us. Bruno now knows that when I click, a treat always follows. It’s helped build more bridges and strengthen our bond!

I was definitely a bit nervous having Bruno so close to my face, but he was being so cute and curious! The trust we’ve built up until this point made me feel safe enough to let him explore ā˜ŗļø

When he did try to go in and gently nip me, I asked him to stop, and he actually listened 🄹

Cannoli has endured so much in his first year of life 🧔

From being abandoned and suffering a broken leg to undergoing two major surgeries, Cannoli’s spirit has remained remarkably bright throughout it all ✨

When we made the decision to amputate, I had a lot of anxiety about how he would adjust to losing a leg. The doctors told me it might take weeks for him to rebalance his weight and adjust to losing a limb... but the very next morning, Cannoli’s resilient spirit continued to shine. He was up and moving as if he’d been a tripod his entire life. He seemed so much lighter and freer than ever before🪽

I guess Bruno owns me now…

At the end, I kept asking him to get off, but he wouldn’t budge. I was genuinely having a difficult time breathing from being crushed under his weight, and I wasn’t sure what to do šŸ˜‚

Bruno nearly suffocated me šŸ˜‚

Since Day 19, Bruno and I have been making huge strides. I thought I would try working in his room this day, but he said, not happening šŸ˜…

It’s so crazy to think where we started… underneath all that aggressive behavior was just a scared little boy craving love šŸ’—

It’s so hard to believe that this is the same cat 😳

Bruno is becoming such an affectionate boy, and he’s slowly learning how to gently ask for what he wants.

Also, the way he says ā€œI love youā€ back every single time with his paw 😩

It’s so hard to believe that this is the same cat I brought home. The first few weeks with Bruno were overwhelming. I felt hopeless at times. Even with my experience with feral & aggressive cats, Bruno has been the most challenging by far. But with love, time and patience, we uncovered a gentle soul just craving love and affection.

We still have some work ahead of us, as he occasionally gets triggered, but I am so incredibly proud of how far we’ve come in such a short amount of time 🄰

The way things escalated so quickly šŸ˜…

Don’t worry, I’ve since learned that I did sooo much wrong here! But I wanted to share honestly where we’re at.

This is my first time caring for a dog this big, and fostering a 65-pound puppy with no training is humbling to say the least. He’s such a love who just wants to play, but it’s very clear that he needs structure and boundaries. He’s really challenging me to be a grounded leader.

I’m taking his training seriously, and I feel really excited to learn. And extra excited that is letting us join a pack walk at training facility this weekend šŸ™Œ

Discovering Bruno’s newfound love for kitty gogurts šŸ±šŸ’•

After consulting with a cat behaviorist regarding Bruno frequently attacking my legs, she recommended that we begin clicker training!

Step one was finding a treat that would act as a reward. I decided to give Churu another shot, and to my surprise, Bruno LOVED them!

The last few weeks, I just assumed he didn’t like them, because he turned his nose to them and attacked them every single time I tried! Turns out poor boy was just really scared and stressed out.
