IN VIRGINIA, state graded feeder cattle mostly 13.00 to 34.00 higher. Feeder cattle at regular auction sales uneven, ranging 13.00 lower to 16.00 higher. Slaughter cows mostly 1.00 to 7.00 higher. Virginia State Police Ongoing Crime Suppression Operations,
Recovering Fi****ms, Narcotics, and Investigating Human Trafficking

RICHMOND— From August 28 – September 2, Virginia State Police, in partnership with supporting federal and local agencies, achieved significant criminal interdictions. Their ongoing efforts led to the recovery of fi****ms, the seizure of narcotics, the seizure of U.S. currency, and the investigation of multiple crimes throughout the Commonwealth.

Operation Highlights

Fi****ms Recovery:
· A total of 1 firearm was recovered, valued at $500.

Narcotics Seizures:
· Total seized narcotics amounted to 338.4 pounds and 23 controlled substance pills.
· Denied revenue from seized narcotics: $2,039,722.
· Breakdown of narcotics recovered:
o Co***ne: 4.5 pounds
o Methamphetamine: 20 pounds
o Ma*****na: 312.4 pounds
o Fentanyl: 8 ounces
o Fentanyl Pills: 23
o Psilocybin: 16.0 ounces
o THC Vapes: 2,000
· U.S Currency: $19,967.

Gaming Enforcement:
· 15 gaming-related tips received (1,815 total to date).

Human Trafficking Investigations:
· 23 new human trafficking tips received (1,197 total to date).
· Investigations conducted:
o Cases investigated or currently under investigation: 218
o Individual investigative activities: 3,220
o Victims identified and offered services: 69

The Virginia State Police remain steadfast in their mission to enhance public safety and uphold the laws throughout the Commonwealth while supporting the Governor’s initiatives on violent crime. By working in close collaboration with local, state, and federal agencies, law enforcement continues to disrupt criminal enterprises and safeguard communities.

VDOT TRAFFIC ALERT

EMERGENCY PIPE WORK TO CLOSE RT. 651 IN FAUQUIER CO.
The replacement is scheduled for overnight next Monday

CULPEPER-- On Monday, Sept. 8, Route 651 (Freemans Ford Road) will close from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 9 between Route 659 (Fox Groves Road) and Route 660 (Saint Paul's Road) for an emergency pipe repair. Crews will be replacing a stormwater pipe beneath the road at Merry Run in Fauquier County.

A signed detour will be in place to direct drivers around the work area.

Traffic on U.S. 15 (James Madison Highway) wishing to head north on Freemans Ford Road will instead take Route 658 (Cemetary Road) and turn left on Saint Paul's Road.

Drivers heading south to access U.S. 15 should turn left on Saint Paul's Road and then right on Cemetery Road.

All work is weather permitting.
