A blanket caught on the border fence in Nogales is a sign of what’s left behind. Deported families now live in makeshift shelters just feet from the United States. Phoenix-based nonprofit Esperanza en la Frontera provides food and necessities to deported migrants and displaced families who are camped in Nogales, Mexico.

Skoden Coffee & Tea in Phoenix is more than a coffee shop — it’s a space for healing, activism and community. Founded by Indigenous owners, Skoden serves blue corn pastries, Navajo tea and support for social causes.

Skoden Coffee & Tea is an Indigenous-owned shop inside Central Records in Phoenix. While the shop includes traditionally inspired Native American drinks and pastries, its owner supports cultural activism.

Nested along the cliffs of Lake Pleasant is “America’s favorite” bird, the bald eagle. With about half a dozen nests populating the area, nest watchers were filled with excitement as hatchlings surpassed 5 weeks – the perfect age to band and measure.

“They’re old enough that they thermoregulate and they don’t have to have the adults protecting them in the nest,” said Kenneth ‘Tuk’ Jacobson, raptor management coordinator for the Arizona Game and Fish Department. “They’re also young enough that they haven’t quite figured out that they’re eagles, so they don’t want to jump on us.”

Farmers across Arizona say John Deere’s repair restrictions are costing them time and money, sometimes forcing six-hour round trips and weeks-long waits just to get equipment fixed.

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes is joining a federal lawsuit against the company, saying it’s part of a bigger fight for the right to repair. She wants to hear from local farmers who’ve been affected.
