Earlier last week, we published our second issue of AutreAuteur Zine: Quarantine Edition. We promised to cover more film-related content this time and we delivered; everything from our Quarantine Marathon series curated by to our photographic recreation of Ari Aster’s Midsommar is available to you for free. It's finally here! Please go check out the very first issue of our Quarantine Edition. In it, we cover everything from the significance of the Black Lives Matter movement to my run-ins with P***y Riot—all while drawing and reflecting on the interdependent relationship between art and activism.

Our zine is completely free—for now. We wanted it to be available to everyone, especially considering our current climate. Feedback is welcome! Thank you for your support as always.

Good evening fellow film hoes, I have a special winter treat for y'all—we have finally launched our website! The link will be posted below, so please check it out. Terrence and I are still working out the kinks, so bear with us.

I'm proud of the progress we've made over the past year despite the myriad of obstacles and setbacks we've faced. I look forward to continuing to share AutreAuteur's progress and success with all of you.

I bought a bunch of pony beads today to make exclusive AutreAuteur candy bracelets. These bracelets symbolize many things for me, namely love, friendship, and creativity. I was inspired by my lovely friends and the rave culture that has inundated our lives.

We will be selling them on our website once it’s launched. In the meantime, I will post photos here and on our Instagram in case anyone would like to purchase one before then. Also, stay tuned for our t-shirts, hats, and other merch!

The Other Authors

Our story began in the summer of 2018. Terrence and I met on social media—as many others do today—and quickly forged a friendship. He started making weekly trips to my old apartment in the suburbs of Detroit not long after, where we spent hours discussing everything from video games to our mutual love of movies and storytelling. We were both struggling to make moves as independent filmmakers, so I suggested that we go into business together and build our own production company from the ground up. He agreed to take the leap with me and AutreAuteur was born that day.

It has been our goal ever since then to create the films and media we wish to see in the world the way we believe they should be created; by the auteurs. We hope to stretch the boundaries of comfort within the world of cinema and we encourage other artists to join our creative revolution.
