Life throws problems at all of us. Some are sudden . Some happen over time. All of them test us, who we are, and who we want to be.

Prosthetic Roads is about facing those challenges and continuing to push forward, even when the path changes everyday. .Its about continuing the fight, embracing recovery, and finding the joy of the wind in your face, in life, and every detour that crosses our path.

I'm sharing my story here, not just about learning to walk or ride again, but learning to live life to its fullest no matter what obstical may be in our path.

If you're facing your own roadblocks, you're not alone.

After a long hiatus I’ve decided to start sharing on social media again. More about the reason for the pause and my future plans later but I wanted to start posting right away! I thought I’d share these photos of my ride to Hilton Head for breakfast , Palmeetto Bay Sunrise Cafe. It’s a great little place with outdoor dining and plenty of scenic riding on the way in.

It’s been a hard 7 months, it started with a blister and ended with a below the knee right leg amputation.

If been off the Grey Ghost for the past 7 months but hope to be back on the Ghost in time to ride the Tail of the Dragon this year.

To all of my brothers and sisters on two and three wheels never forget how lucky we are to feel the wind in our face, I really miss it right now but I’ll be back!

Who Am I?

Freedom Behind Bars is my own personal love letter to the motorcycle culture, a place to celebrate what has come before as well as nurture and cultivate what will come to pass. I believe in carrying forward the classic biker attributes of freedom, self-reliance and a deep love for the open road.

Regardless of what you ride, whether you ride in a club or solo, if you prefer short trips across town or long journeys across the nation, my goal is to provide something for you here, both on the page as well as at my website, FreedomBehindBars.com. I’m always on the lookout for new places, new faces and just new experiences in general that can be attained from the back of a motorcycle.
