Each month we interview a young person about their journey to the job they are in. The program is posted to our Muskegon Rotary web site and YouTube Channel. The Muskegon Area Intermediate School District "MAISD" is providing support to put the programs to work with local students.

Good Afternoon,

I am the Program Director and General Manager of Channel 96 Muskegon which we manage on behalf of the City of Muskegon and I was made aware of a problem that occurred very recently with our programming automation on the cable channel end of the content delivery. What was seen is below this communities standards and our standards and upon finding out how the problem occurred and taking measures to correct it, I am here to address concerns.

In the times we are automated, we had one segment that opened up programming to outside feeds to show something other than a test pattern or more “dead air”. We had a bank of webcams, road reports and blurbs coming from other local sites that could offer info that would be pertinent to our area as that particular channel serves Muskegon County only. When our programming went “idle” and that carousel of displays picked up, we were caught with content that shouldn’t have been there. While this is so far out of the imagination of ever being a risk, it happened to us and there is no other way to deal with it than to admit it, correct it and apologize. There was no intent behind what was seen. We take our commitment to our community and responsibility as broadcasters seriously and this is the first incident in the years we’ve managed this partnership.

While what was seen can’t be taken back, we have taken every measure to prevent it from happening again and we will continue to build our programming and value to Muskegon.
