When Bill Driggs, owner of 2 Hopewell Bistro & Tavern, talked to an officer about two burglaries at the restaurant, he told him he didn’t think they were inside jobs, state police say.

Little did he know the very cop he was talking to would be accused of them.

State troopers arrested then-Glastonbury Police Officer Patrick Hemingway last week and charged him with one attempted break-in and nine burglaries at eight businesses in Glastonbury.

He has now been charged with more than 30 burglaries and is suspected of up to 50 break-ins in three states, police say.
