Tatooine Sons: A Star Wars Podcast Tatooine Sons is a podcast and community for dads who grew up loving Star Wars, and are now experiencing it through the eyes of their children.

Tatooine Sons was launched in December 2017 as "Tatooine Sons: A Star Wars Podcast." In December of 2018, Nathan (one of the hosts who at the time was 12 years old) asked Rian Johnson, the writer/director of "The Last Jedi": "What is the name of the porg on the Millennium Falcon?"

Rian Johnson responded: "What do YOU think his name is?" When Nathan answered, "Maybe Terbus?" no one really believe

d the character would become official. But after a year and a half campaign on social media, the character was officially named in the all-ages comic book series "Star Wars Adventures," issues 27-29. (https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Terbus)

As Tatooine Sons has evolved, it has become more than a podcast. It's a community of dads (mostly 😉) who grew up loving Star Wars, and are now experiencing it through the eyes of their kids.

Scenario: you’re a dad who grew up loving Star Wars. Now, you teach middle school literature. You’ve developed a curriculum that uses Star Wars to teach storytelling. Your students love it. But… 😬

Your own kids don’t really care about the galaxy. 🤷‍♂️

That’s the convo today with Craig Dickinson from Reading Between the Reels.

Take a few minutes to listen. 🎧 It’s a pretty engaging discussion.

This week on Tatooine Sons, we talk to Craig Dickinson from Reading Between the Reels about using Star Wars to teach LITERATURE to middle schoolers... even if his kids aren't totally sold on a galaxy far, far away!

We dive into turning lightsaber battles into literary analysis, the power of Star Wars fandom, and how to share your love of Star Wars with your kids without going full Sith Lord.

LISTEN NOW for laughs, insights, and maybe even some teaching inspo! https://pod.fo/e/2f789c

Don't forget to share this with your fellow Star Wars dads!

Ever wonder why Star Wars STILL hits so hard, even after all these years? 🤯 This week on Tatooine Sons, we'regoing hyperspace into the heart of the Force!

I'm rebroadcasting my awesome chat with Pete and Nick@ from Around the Galaxy on The SSW Network, where we wax philosophical about everything that makes Star Wars a freakin' modern mythology. Think lightsabers, X-wings, the eternal struggle of good vs. evil, and why these movies STILL matter.

Plus, we reveal the secret weapon of Star Wars: the humor! (Because who doesn't love a good Wookiee roar or a sarcastic droid?)

Perfect for you dads out there looking to pass on the Star Wars love to your kids, or any lifelong fan who wants to dive deeper. Give it a listen and let me know what YOU think makes Star Wars so timeless!

* Did Andor surprise you with its darker, more grounded take?
* Can these two styles co-exist in the Star Wars universe?

Alright, Star Wars dads, let's talk. 🗣️ Filoni, Gilroy, and the future of the galaxy. Are you excited? Confused? Maybe a little bit of both?

This week, we're dissecting the contrasting styles of Dave Filoni (Rebels, Ahsoka) and Tony Gilroy (Andor) and what they mean for the Star Wars universe YOUR kids are growing up with.

We're tackling the tough questions:
* Is Filoni the chosen one, or is his style starting to feel a little… predictable?
* Did Andor blow your mind, or did it feel like a betrayal of the Star Wars spirit?
* Can these two visions ACTUALLY live in harmony?

Listen to the episode and tell us: If you could steal ONE thing from Filoni's Star Wars and ONE thing from Gilroy's, what would they be? Let's debate! 👇
