Ever noticed the Gaelic phrase above the entryway to our Production Room?
Uisce Beatha translates as "water of life" in Gaelic. Historically, this phrase was the name given to distilled alcohol by Irish monks in the Middle Ages. For centuries it was believed that whiskey contained mystical medicinal powers - sufficient enough to cure colic, smallpox, and other ailments. It's ability to provide the warmth a body needed on those cold winter nights helped, too. So - in their minds, fermentation of grains, when aged to perfection, literally translated to life.
