Counterpoint is a glimpse of heaven on earth. It reminds us that when we are able to appreciate the unique offerings of others, choose our own utterances mindfully, get out of each other’s way, and devote our whole being to listening, we can truly, deeply, finally dance together in grace.

(Thanks to Jonathan D Campbell for inspiring me to think about counterpoint today! My fellow music-makers are some of my most cherished muses.)

From now on most of my choral music orders will be filled by dealers - and my husband is turning my music storage area into a woodworking studio -- so please help these last octavos in my inventory find new homes ASAP. Just ask and I'll ship! (Details in the original post.)

Some of the poets and writers whose words I set to music did not wish to receive their sales royalties, so several years ago I set up a special fund to donate their royalties to choirs whose central mission focused on work in the wider community. Unfortunately, the administration of this fund has become too time-consuming for me to continue it, but at this time I'm pleased to announce the final two beneficiaries of this fund:

VocalPoint Chorus not only donates 100% of every concert's proceeds to a designated community organization, but makes that organization's mission a thematic element of those concerts.

Border CrosSing is dedicated to integrating historically-segregated audiences, repertoire, and musicians, never turning away audience members because of inability to pay.
