But why do we celebrate these incredible creatures today? 🤔 Let’s take a flight through history!

The celebration of American Eagle Day began in 1995, thanks to the efforts of the American Eagle Foundation (AEF) based in Tennessee. This day was designated to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the bald eagle and its natural habitat. The bald eagle was chosen as the national emblem of the United States on June 20, 1782, representing freedom and strength. 🇺🇸

Throughout the 20th century, bald eagles faced the threat of extinction due to habitat destruction and pesticide use. Thanks to the conservation efforts, these beautiful birds were successfully removed from the endangered species list in 2007. 🙌
