THEY'RE HERE!! 😊🎉 We are so excited to finally share with you the 58th edition of The Burke Book! Today, 5 of our staffers traveled to Marceline, MO to visit the Walsworth Publishing Plant. They got to take a tour of the plant, and pick up a box of books to take home. This week, (5/7-5/9) books will be available to buy or pickup. You will find us in room 250 before/after school, or in the lunchroom. You don't want to miss out!! 🖤💛

PHILLY 2024 📍

Last Week, 8 of our newspaper (The Burke Beat) & yearbook (The Burke Book) staff members got the opportunity to visit Philadelphia for a national convention. Out of the 8 staff members who attended, 3 of them won awards for their dedicated contests:
•Emily Douglas- Yearbook Copy/Caption: Student Life (Honorable Mention)
•Kingston Blair- Newswriting (Honorable Mention)
•Johanna Frandeen- Review Writing (Excellent)

Alongside the Journalism experiences the group got to partake in fun activities such as visiting the Rocky Statue, The Liberty Bell, and Exploring the Eastern State Penitentiary! The students who attended were incredibly grateful to have this opportunity and the entire journalism department is so proud of them! 🖤💛
