In our Around Town feature in our July issue of , we talked about St. John Church and how the road leading to it used to be referred to as Grog Hill. The story goes that during the "church-raising," workers were sent down the road to The Waggon Inn (where Reed's store is there at the corner of Skippack and DeKalb Pikes) to fetch some beer to go with the lunch the ladies had prepared. Sadly for all, the delivery team was careless, and as they proceeded up the hill, the wagon's tailgate opened, their vessel of beer fell, and its contents splashed down the hill. Bemused locals began to refer to the area as "Grog Hill." Read more in your July issue.
