Let’s ride!!!!

I have some REALLY cool speaking opportunities on the horizon, highlighted by a keynote at Texas Downtown convention in November. I’m also leading a class at Restore+Revive Wellness Center and co-hosting the podcast spearheaded by the Burleson Chamber .

Breaking News: Also currently scheduling “Locker Room Talks” with athletic programs across the region/state. I want to pour into young athletes, remind them that perfection is unattainable and explain the power of having a neutral mindset.

AND working on a potential workshop with golfers and parents associated with West Texas Junior Golf Tour.

I LOVE pouring into people and creating ripple effects!

Our inaugural leadership class for recently came to a close. Each member of the class was recognized at a graduation ceremony in front of other city staff. During the graduation, I got the opportunity to express my gratefulness to every single person who went through the 6-month program. I thanked them for buying into what we were doing. I thanked them for sharing a part of themselves. I thanked them for leading with their hearts. The City of Melissa is fortunate to have these servant leaders as members of its family.

Exciting news … Class II will launch in October.

Wichita!!!

This is a follow-up post to our trip to Wichita Falls for the . It was highlighted by the opportunity to caddy for Crash, but it was also special because of the ol’ friends we reconnected with and the chance to walk down memory lane at .

Highlights…

• Crash and I spent one morning with one my favorite people on planet Earth - . This woman had a profound impact on my life. We shared funny stories and caught up over a cup of coffee. I loved that Crash and Barb got to meet.

• On Day 2 of the TO, stepped up and caddied for Crash. Jase is a golfer, and I had the honor and pleasure to work with him for a while. I’ve known his folks for a long time, and I enjoyed our time working together on the mental side of golf. I was grateful for Jase stepping up and being there for Crash during the golf tournament.

• On my last night in Wichita, I did one of my workouts walking around Midwestern. It has been more than 30 years since I first stepped foot on the MSU campus. And while it’s changed so much, it’s still eerily the same. While I was doing my 45-minute walk, I thought about all the wonderfully great moments and the amazing friendships I had during my time at .

I’m sure Crash will play in the again, and I hope I continue to have nostalgic moments like this over the next couple years.

Caddy Shack!

I marked No. 11 of my new Life List today. I got the honor and privilege to caddy for my son in a tournament. I carried his golf bag for 18 holes at the in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Really, the only thing to say about this …

Today was incredible! Absolutely, without-a-doubt, one of my all-time favorite things to EVER mark off any of my Life Lists. It was so special to me, in so many ways.

Ily Belle had her final intermediate school talent show today. Her tribe closed it down with a bang. All their craziness was on display during the final act.

Leadership Burleson!

I have the honor and privilege to play a small role in Leadership Burleson again this year. It will be my third year to add a personal development component to this impactful program. Today, was the Team Building Retreat at .

My portion: I stressed the importance of making themselves a priority so they can be a light for the world around them. I also facilitated DISC assessment through .

It’s going to be a wonderfully great class. Thanks to and Burleson EDC for allowing me to pour into their community leaders.

Next Level!

Today, one of my very first coaching clients - - signed his National Letter of Intent to play collegiate golf at .

I couldn’t be more proud of this young man. He worked his butt off to make this dream a reality. The team got a good one!

I feel very honored and blessed that I got the chance to play very small role in his high school golf career. I remember the first time I met Andrew. I said, “I can’t help you be a better golfer - I suck at golf - but I CAN help you on the mental side of the game.”
