Art Menius produces "The Revolution Starts Now: The Topical Song Show" Tuesdays from 4-5 PM Eastern on WCOM-LP 103.5, Carrboro, NC and "Classic Eno Festival Live" on WHUP-LP 104.7 Saturdays at 11 AM. Executive Director of SERFA, he is the former host of From the Roots on WMMT-FM 88.7, Whitesburg, KY, The ArtSpot on WCHL-FM 97.9 and The ArtsCenter Report, on WCOM-FM. Writing , mostly about roots music, since 1983; emceed & stage managed at dozens of music festivals. During 1985 I helped create the International Bluegrass Music Association and became its first executive director. I did six years as president of the board of the Old-Time Herald, and 8 years on the board of directors of Folk Alliance International. In 1990 the Folk Alliance elected me its first President. In April 1991 I became its first manager, serving until June 1996. After a period as an agent, I became Associate Festival Coordinator for MerleFest, the enormous outdoor folk festival in Wilkesboro, NC. Following a decade there, I served as Director of Appalshop, the acclaimed Appalachian media and arts center in Whitesburg, KY. Due to health concerns, I retired from full time (70 hours/week) work as Executive Director of The ArtsCenter in Carrboro
