Made it to the Exhibition last night at the SF Main Public Library: Rooted In San Francisco: 10 Years Of The Legacy Business Program.

Great archival photos on display of iconic San Francisco shops and institutions through the years. We met owners of many Legacy businesses and learned about their history. Talked to many folks curious about what it means to license stock footage, how our historical images are used in contemporary films. Will be posting more on this aspect of our business soon! The Buena Vista Saloon/Cafe photo here and on display peaked our interest as we have 45 year old film footage of that business, will post that soon! Stay tuned!

Had a photo taken with the incredible Rick Kurylo, former Legacy Business Program Manager, now moving on to another position. We will miss him; he did a heroic and masterful job and all of us Legacy businesses are so grateful! Also standing with us is the wonderfully talented Michelle Reynolds who will be staying on at the Legacy Program, thanks Michelle!

Had a wonderful time! The exhibition is up till August 21st...

SFPL presents the opening reception for the Rooted in San Francisco: 10 Years of the Legacy Business Program Exhibit, celebrating a decade of San Francisco’s Legacy Business Program and the longstanding small businesses that help shape the city’s cultural identity and neighborhood life.
The exhibition highlights a selection of San Francisco Legacy Businesses through historic photographs, signage, storytelling and archival materials that reflect the creativity, resilience and community connections built across generations. From neighborhood institutions to family-run storefronts, the featured businesses represent the people and places that continue to define San Francisco’s commercial corridors.
Presented in partnership with the City and County of San Francisco’s Office of Small Business and the Legacy Business Program, the exhibition also explores the importance of preservation, continuity and local economic culture in a rapidly changing city
