🕊️Remembering Forrest Lucas (1942–2025)🕊️

Forrest Lucas, the son of Indiana farmers who rose from humble beginnings to become a giant in motorsports and the automotive world, has passed away at 83.

Born in Ramsey, Indiana, Forrest started as a truck driver and mechanic before experimenting with oil blends to better protect engines. That passion grew into Lucas Oil, the company he and his wife, Charlotte, founded in 1989. With relentless drive and belief in his products, Forrest built Lucas Oil into one of the nation’s most trusted brands.

His love for motorsports was just as powerful. In 2004, he transformed a dirt track in Missouri into Lucas Oil Speedway, and through sponsorships of all sizes, he provided opportunities to racers at every level. He even launched MAVTV, ensuring motorsports had a dedicated home on television.

In 2024, Forrest was honored with the NHRA Lifetime Achievement Award, cementing his legacy as a true visionary. “Forrest Lucas was a visionary who believed in motorsports from the grassroots up. The NHRA and countless racers are better because of his passion and generosity,” said NHRA President Glen Cromwell.

Forrest leaves behind more than a company. He leaves a legacy of perseverance, generosity, and love for racing. One that will continue to inspire for generations to come.🏁

Forrest Lucas, the founder of Lucas Oil and a steadfast supporter of many forms of motorsport, has died at 83.

What makes him unique? He builds without sketches, without rules, and without limits. Just diesel, determination, and imagination.💭⚙️

🚨Spy Shots: GM’s “Megamax” Diesel is Real!🚨

The diesel truck wars just got spicy. High in the Colorado Rockies,📸 TFLtruck caught a convoy of camouflaged GM HD trucks grinding up the brutal I-70 grade… and the rumor mill is in overdrive.

Word is GM’s cooking up an 8.3L turbo-diesel V8, nicknamed the Megamax. The numbers?🤯 600 HP and 1,200 lb-ft of torque. That’s not just big, that’s game-changing.

These test mules were seen dragging massive 3-axle goosenecks, loaded with steel and even other camouflaged trucks. Some rigs rocked oversized exhausts hooked to testing sensors, proof that this monster is in deep development. 🔧

Insiders say when trucks hit public roads like this, an official reveal is usually months away. Expect to see the Megamax powering 2027 Silverado & Sierra HDs with an announcement next year.

But here’s the kicker:💡 A bigger engine isn’t just about brute strength. It could actually make emissions easier and efficiency better, letting GM play catch-up with Ford in the torque wars.

Bottom line👉 The Megamax Diesel is no longer just a rumor. It’s out in the wild, it’s packing monster power, and it might just be the most powerful Duramax ever built.🔥

New spy shots suggest GM is testing a new, larger V8 diesel. This could be the rumored 8.3L Megamax Diesel with 1,200 lb-ft of torque.

💥How a Furniture Salesman Built a 12-Liter CAT Diesel Hot Rod💥

Forget small-block Chevys or big V8 swaps! One man stuffed a 12-liter CAT diesel into a 1928 Studebaker Commander and built one of the wildest hot rods you’ll ever see.

The builder, known as Snapper, wasn’t a mechanic by trade. He sold furniture. The Studebaker body sat forgotten in a barn for over a decade until Snapper decided to turn it into something outrageous. The heart of the project came from a 1995 International semi-truck, where he sourced the CAT diesel, its frame, and even the air brakes and suspension. He cut 25 feet off the donor chassis to fit, then mounted the vintage body on top. Despite the enormous engine, the car ended up with a perfect 50/50 weight balance.

Even more impressive? The entire build happened in just nine months inside a two-car garage.

Snapper admits he had no diesel expertise, but he found a creative solution: track down a Caterpillar service manager at his local bar. Week after week, over beers, he got the advice he needed to pull the project off.

The result is a one-of-a-kind hot rod with classic styling and the unmistakable rumble of a semi. On the road, it draws nonstop thumbs-ups, smiles, and waves. As Filthy Rich from Deboss Garage put it, “You can’t see this and not smile.”

This build isn’t just about horsepower... It’s about vision, determination, and the wild places passion can take you.

🚙💨 Toyota’s Diesel Gamble in America

Back in 1981, Toyota dropped something wild on the U.S. market: a compact pickup with a diesel heart. At first glance, it looked like any other mini truck of the era, but under the hood was a purpose-built 2.2L diesel that sipped fuel like nothing else. We’re talking 30–40 mpg in a truck… in the early ’80s. 🔥

The catch? Speed. Or rather, the lack of it. Zero to 60 took about 20 seconds (yeah, really 🐢). But owners loved them for what they were: slow, steady, unkillable workhorses.

By the mid-’80s, Toyota upgraded to a 2.4L diesel, then even bolted on a turbo. The “2.4D Turbo” trucks made more power, pulled harder, and even rocked factory turbo badges. Still, most buyers chasing performance or cheap gas are stuck with the gasoline 22R.

By 1986, Toyota pulled the plug. Diesel mini trucks vanished from U.S. showrooms, leaving behind a cult following and one of Toyota’s coolest, strangest experiments.

👉 A short run, but a legendary one.
New boost

Toyota’s first U.S.-market diesel mini truck landed in 1981. After 1986, Toyota pulled the plug on the diesels and hasn't looked back.

🚨155,000 POUNDS OF PURE CHAOS🚨

After a year and a half of welding, grinding, and straight-up madness, WhistlinDiesel’s Killdozer is ALIVE.🔥

💪 3/4” steel armor
🧱 19,000 lbs of concrete core
⚔️ Built stronger than the original

This beast debuted by crushing 8 cars like soda cans 🫠🚗 and then dragging a Chieftain battle tank across a field like it was nothing. 😳

Inside? Cameras, fans, hidden escape hatches... It’s not just armor, it’s a fully functional fortress. 🛡️

And here’s the wild part… explosives & crash tests are coming next 💥.

👉The original Killdozer was infamous. This one? It’s about to become legendary.

After months of work, the WhistlinDiesel Killdozer is finished. The 155,000-pound machine crushes cars and beats a tank in a tug-of-war.

💥2006 Thomas Freightliner FS65 Skoolie Camper Conversion💥

The Yeti isn’t your average camper, it’s a 2006 Thomas Freightliner FS65 school bus turned full-blown custom Skoolie. Once hauling kids, now hauling dreams, it packs a Mercedes-Benz MBE-900 4.8L turbodiesel inline-six, one of the most reliable bus engines ever built, with only 192k miles on it. That’s barely broken in for a motor that can easily push 500k.

For Florida veteran and remodeling contractor Eddie Kreder, this wasn’t just a build, it was survival. Born in the chaos of COVID-19, Yeti became a rolling work of art: matte black on the outside, warm cedar ceilings, black granite counters, barnwood backsplash, and diamond-plate accents inside. It sleeps two, has dual A/C units, a full-size bed, shower, kitchen, and even comes with an electric bike for camp-side exploring.

Eddie built it for epic retirement road trips, but after taking his mother on one final ride to Graceland, life had other plans. In July 2025, this off-grid-ready Skoolie rolled across Mecum’s Florida Summer Special auction stage and sold for $32,000, a steal for a handcrafted home on wheels.

This isn’t just a camper. It’s a legacy with a diesel heartbeat.

There's something special about seeing an old workhorse like this 2006 Thomas Freightliner FS65 Skoolie camper brought back to life.

🚨Buying a Used 6.7L Power Stroke? READ THIS FIRST!🚨

If you’re shopping for a used 6.7L Power Stroke, buckle up, because this isn’t just another diesel truck story. From its 2011 debut to today’s torque-twisting monsters, Ford’s 6.7L Super Duty has seen it all: massive power gains, clever engineering tweaks, and yes… a few wallet-draining nightmares you don’t want parked in your driveway.

The early 2011–2014 models flexed big numbers but came with fragile turbos and fuel pump issues waiting to ambush your bank account. Mid-decade brought stronger, more reliable setups, and by 2017, the lighter, aluminum-bodied redesign delivered more power and less rust, though repairs got more expensive. Then came 2020 with the smooth-shifting 10-speed that transformed the drive, and by 2023, the high-output version smashed torque records and left rivals choking on soot.

The catch? The difference between a dream truck and a financial nightmare comes down to knowing the red flags... Bad turbos, leaky seals, sketchy shifting, before you sign. Get it right, and you’ll have a diesel workhorse that will tow, haul, and roar for hundreds of thousands of miles. Get it wrong, and… well, you’ll learn a very expensive lesson.

If you're shopping for a used 6.7-liter Power Stroke Ford Super Duty diesel truck, there are a few things you'll want to watch out for.

💥The 2016–2019 Diesel Titan: Nissan’s Ambitious 5.0L Cummins V8 Pickup💥

For a short but bold moment, Nissan shocked the truck world with the Titan XD powered by a 5.0L Cummins V8 turbodiesel. Sold from 2016 to 2019, this “tweener” truck aimed to slot between half-ton comfort and three-quarter-ton muscle. The result? A full-size pickup with real diesel credibility, thanks to the legendary Cummins name.

The 5.0L Cummins (ISV5.0) made 310 hp and 555 lb-ft of torque, paired with an Aisin 6-speed automatic. It could tow up to 12,640 pounds and haul over 2,000 pounds, serious capability for a truck that didn’t require heavy-duty insurance or licensing. The compacted graphite iron block, two-stage Holset turbo, and high-pressure common rail injection gave it traditional diesel durability in a refined, comfortable package.

So why didn’t it last? Brand loyalty, tightening emissions, and high costs kept sales low. Nissan discontinued the diesel Titan after 2019 and later ended Titan production entirely after 2024. Still, the Cummins-powered Titan remains a rare and unique option for diesel fans, a smooth, torquey truck with heavy-duty soul in a lighter-duty body.

For enthusiasts, it’s now a hidden gem: part diesel workhorse, part collectible curiosity, and one of the boldest moves Nissan ever made in the truck market.

Produced from model years 2016 through 2019, the Cummins-powered diesel Titan carved out a unique niche between half-ton and HD pickups.
