Wedding coverage goes fast, so the order of your reception matters more than people realize 💸📸

A smooth flow helps your photo and video team capture the moments that matter without wasting coverage time or leaving guests unsure what is happening next.

Here is a simple reception order that usually works well:

Grand entrance into first dance
Welcome or thank you speech
Dinner served
Toasts while guests are eating
Parent dances
Cake cutting or dessert
Bouquet toss, garter toss or other special activities
Group photo on the dance floor
Open dancing with a song everyone knows

That last part is key.

Once everyone is already on the dance floor for the group photo, have your DJ go right into a strong dance song. Your photographer and videographer only need a few great minutes of packed dance floor energy to capture the party at its best.

The goal is to keep things moving, avoid awkward gaps and make sure the big moments happen while your team is still there to capture them.
