Hello everyone 🙋‍♀️

We've been absent the last couple weeks battling a serious virus that went through our house. Unfortunately every single one of us got it and it was NOT for the weak.

Thankfully we are all better and ready to dive deeper into growing our page.

I saw this in one of my horsey groups and was curious who of our followers are horse people too??

If I had to pick one horse out of all the horses I've had the opportunity to work with, it would be Toby.

He was a sassy standardbred I had the pleasure of working with at Lanier Islands in Georgia and I LOVED him. He wasn't that horse just anyone could jump on and it made our relationship that much stronger. He always took care of me in the saddle and his eyes lit up when he saw me coming with it.

Y'all we have grown to TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY followers. We are so thrilled to have so many joining us for this new chapter in our lives. We cannot wait to share with you all the progress and lessons we learn along the way.

Hello everyone🙋‍♀️ thank you so much for being here.

For those of you that are just joining us, I'm Jess and my husband is Brody. We are a young homeschooling family and we have 5 kids ages 8 and under.

Over the coming weeks we will be transitioning to full time off grid homestead life and sharing every step of the way with all of you. Brody is a framer by trade and I'm a pretty skilled "helper" so we will be doing EVERYTHING ourselves.

We'll be clearing the land, renovating a lofted shed cabin into a tiny home perfectly suited to our families needs, building fences, shelters and more.

We plan to have a large garden, goats, chickens, piggies, and maybe a horse or two.

Our hope for the future is to have a small home business where we provide quality, homegrown produce, farmfresh eggs, homemade natural goats milk and tallow skincare products, fresh flowers, plant starts and custom woodworking and metal fabrications.

We would absolutely love to connect with other farmers/homesteaders and share tips and experiences.

I wanted to get y'alls opinions before we start posting videos. Other then homestead renovation, gardening, woodworking projects and custom metal fabrications what type of content would you like to see from us?

I was thinking large family meal prep and preservation and big family parenting tips???

You guys😭😭😭😭

I scored this ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS canner today. It usually retails for $100 dollars and I paid, wait for it.........

This right here is also a perfect example of the butterfly effect.

Usually we buy the kids apple juice but today of all days I decided I'm going to start making tea at home for them instead, but I needed a pitcher to put the tea in. Our goodwill is in the same plaza as our kroger and believe it or not Kroger didn't have ONE plastic pitcher, so off to Goodwill I went. I turned down an aisle scanning for a pitcher and this beauty was sitting on the top shelf. I legitimately squealed with JOY when I picked it up and saw that not only was it what I thought it was but it was also a BALL.

I also snagged a practically brand new Ostra 14 speed blender for 9 bucks too. It wasn't even on the shelf yet but I asked the employee if I could take a look at it, saw it was in like new condition and said "yup, it's coming too".

Give us a lawn covered in clover and dandelions,

A garden full of produce never touched by a pesticide,

A pond home to ducks and fish acting as it's own ecosystem and natural water source,

A freezer full of meat that never knew anything but love during their life,

A pasture full of livestock to provide nourishment to our bodies,

A home full of loud kids, lots of love, laughter and muddy dogs.

My inner child is JUMPING for joy right now.

We decided to start thrifting for certain items we want/need for the homestead life. There's just something about vintage items that you can't find with stuff made today.

Now normally I don't find much at our local Goodwill, we live in a smaller town, and it's a REALLY small store.

Today though y'all, I MADE OUT LIKE A BANDIT.

$25 dollars spent and I came home with some amazing finds.

Having a large family means sometimes, okay okay, alot of the time, things are VERY loud. Whether they're playing, fighting, laughing, crying there is always alot of noise.

We've discovered no better way to help everyone reset is to get OUTSIDE.

Run barefoot in the grass,
Dig your toes in the dirt,
Let the sun beam on your face,
Breathe in some freshair and
Disconnect from society for a bit.

To most, this is JUST a grill.

To us, this is a HUGE step in making our dreams become reality.

Before we make the plunge full time we will be learning how to bake and utilize this for most of our cooking needs. We enjoy being outside and want to be more conscious of our energy usage. We will still have AC but using this will help eliminate adding unnecessary heat inside from a stove/oven.

We enjoyed our first meal off this baby and let me tell you, there is just a different level of satisfaction that comes from cooking with a grill.
