SHEMOT SPOTLIGHT!

Navigating Wilderness: Ramban's Commentary on the Exodus and Numbers Narratives by Dr. Michelle Levine

Navigating Wilderness analyzes the Israelites’ wilderness journeys, chronicled in the Books of Exodus and Numbers, through the lens of the foremost thirteenth century Spanish commentator, Ramban/Nachmanides. Ramban’s holistic, integrative study of these narratives from a literary perspective investigates their plot structure, portrayal of the biblical personae, and thematic underpinnings. Against the backdrop of his predecessors’ interpretations, Ramban forges his own interpretative path in his incisive readings of these pivotal stories, eliciting the complex dynamics in the relationship between God, Moses, and the Israelites as they journey from Egypt to Mount Sinai and toward the Land of Canaan. Analyzing the Wilderness Narratives with Ramban’s commentary, this book delineates this commentator’s astute insights into the Israelites’ experiences in their quest for their national destiny.

We're hiring! Social Media Intern - Available for Immediate Start

Kodesh Press publishes a wide variety of thoughtful, inspirational, and unique Orthodox Jewish books. At the intersection of tradition and modernity, we have published over 100 titles by more than 30 authors since inception. Kodesh Press is a husband-and-wife run company, based in Teaneck, NJ. We are looking to hire a bibliophilic intern who reads endlessly, thinks deeply, and is passionate about their relationship with God, Judaism, and the Jewish people. The ideal candidate will also have a background in marketing (especially social media marketing), a strong aesthetic sense to design promotional material, have an innate sense of personal responsibility and follow-through, and be an excellent communicator. Ideally we would like to hire someone located in Teaneck/Bergenfield, or Bergen County, but would consider remote work. Responsibilities include:
Write a promotional calendar that considers new releases, Jewish holidays and the Torah-reading cycle, reviews, blog posts, interviews, sales, and other noteworthy items.
Develop promotional campaigns for new releases for social media and email marketing.
Create images, graphics, and other ad campaign materials as necessary, ideally in InDesign and/or PhotoShop.
Pre-schedule promotional social media posts across Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly, Twitter). Posts should be about once per day, with the exception of Shabbat and holidays. These should be scheduled in advance for the sake of efficiency.
Post to the dedicated Whatsapp group on a regular basis.
Prepare and pre-schedule emails in email marketing software.
Monitor the real-world, print, and digital landscape for relevant developments and growth opportunities.
Knowledge of paid social media marketing is a plus.
This position is ideal for a college or graduate student passionate about Jewish books and learning about the world of Jewish publishing, marketing majors, and graphic design students. Estimated 10-15 hours per week, depending on schedule and time of year. Salary commensurate with experience.

Coming soon to Kodesh Press from Rabbi Moshe Taragin!

HISTORY HAS A BEGINNING AND AN END. ADVANCING HISTORY TO ITS CONCLUSION IS CALLED REDEMPTION. REDEMPTION ISN’T JUST A PROPHECY BUT A CORE VALUE OF JEWISH BELIEF.

To understand the culmination, we must take the long view of history. By exploring prophecy, Chazal, and previous redemptions, we can begin to construct a vocabulary of geulah. What are the challenges of redemption? What role does land play in shaping religious identity? How can we reclaim a universal voice without weakening our devotion to Torah and mitzvot? And how have the sweeping revolutions of recent centuries reshaped the redemptive journey? This book reaches back across generations to rediscover the melody of our people—their struggle, their faith, and their calling to represent Hashem in this world. It also confronts the ways in which October 7th tested our faith, altered Jewish identity, and redefined Jewish peoplehood.
