The Briarwood Lions followed up their most complete game of the season in the opening round of the playoffs with one of their best game over the past few years on Friday, Nov. 14 in a second-round matchup with Russellville.

The Shelby County Wildcats went toe-to-toe with the Montgomery Catholic Knights in the first half of the Class 5A second-round matchup, but they fell apart in the second half. As a result, Montgomery Catholic punched its ticket to the quarterfinals with a 38-15 victory, and Shelby County’s season came to an end at Charles “Pa Pa” McCombs Stadium on Friday, Nov. 14.
