Tips up for a good cause! 🥃🎿 The ninth annual Park City Sunrise Rotary Shot Ski is the moment to tap into communal, competitive spirit while raising a shot for a good cause.

On October 11, Park City will once again try to beat longtime rival Breckenridge, Colorado’s shot ski record while raising funds for community grants (last year, the Sunrise Rotarians grossed $66,000). Park City’s attempt to top Breck’s 1,401 shot-slinging participants involves 553 bolted-together skis spanning 2,744 feet on Main Street, and 1,410 shots.

Typically, this is a sell-out event, so get tickets early! Visit parkcityshotski.com

Last week, Robert Redford died in his Utah home at the age of 89. The Oscar-winning actor and director, and life-long environmentalist, leaves behind an incredible legacy both on and off the screen.

The “Sundance Kid” left an indelible mark on his beloved adopted state of Utah and the world of independent cinema when he purchased the land that would become in 1969, and later founded the nonprofit Sundance Institute in 1981 (). Three years later, he co-founded the subsequent Sundance Film Festival in 1984. And the rest, as they say, is history.

In an article about the Sundance Film Festival turning 40 that appeared in the pages of Park City Magazine last winter, the late Tina Lewis (another local legend) wrote:

“Redford’s gift to Park City, and to us all, has transformed our town and our lives. It has made us smarter, more tolerant, more joyful, more informed, more connected, and more humane. We are all richer for it. Mr. Redford is right: We all hunger for beautifully told stories.”

Thank you for your legacy, Mr. Redford. You will be missed. ❤️

Winter is coming, and big things are happening in Canyons Village. The highly anticipated Sunrise Gondola, opening for the 2025/26 ski season, is officially under construction.

This long-awaited addition will transform the ski-in, ski-out experience at Pendry Park City, making it easier than ever to step out of the hotel and straight onto the mountain.

From first tracks to après by the fire, this is the upgrade that will redefine Park City as the premier ski destination in the country.

Engage with extraordinary art, artists, and the artistic process. The 56th annual Kimball Arts Festival, held August 1–3, features roughly 200 professional artists from around the country (selected from 1,100 applicants), whose work spans everything from oils and sculpture to hand-crafted furniture and ceramics.

Discover interactive opportunities, like wheel-throwing and kid-friendly projects. Savor eats, libations, and music at the stages and food trucks located at the top of Main Street and Heber Avenue.

Be sure to ask questions of the talent behind whatever inspires you. After all, as Festival Director Hillary Gilson puts it, “We exist to connect our audience to artists and to help support each other.”

Pro Tip: To avoid crowds, hit the Kimball Arts Festival in the morning, and consider VIP passes for air-conditioned lounge access and refreshment perks.
