🦈 Two years on TikTok. Wow!
Friday marked two full years of TikTok live streaming — and it was genuinely one of the best days of my life. I got to celebrate surrounded by my best friends, my mods, and all of you who showed up to watch. During the day, you guys submitted stories to the Discord, made edits, shared memories… and I want to share some of those with you here!
Two years ago, I was at a crossroads. I had just left my job. I needed something that felt like me again — something that kept me close to the parks, could generate income, and gave me one last shot at making Theme Park Shark really work. I had tried everything: YouTube, Twitter, short form, long form. I loved all of it… but TikTok Live? That’s where I found my people.
Streaming gave me a chance to be myself. It didn’t always have to be about rides or roller coasters — you let me travel with you. You came with me to the Matterhorn, to Chicago, to Vegas. We built something together. Twice now, we’ve done TikTok Live Fests, competing to be the top streamer in the country. Both times, we rented a house and called it the Shark House — filled it with friends, mods, love, and laughter. And both times, we placed second. That’s wild.
Before this, I was doing YouTube full time. And as much as I love what we built there, YouTube can be lonely. You film alone. You edit alone. You post and hope for the best… alone. But streaming changed that for me. Streaming is alive. It’s social. It’s filled with energy. Every day, I get to talk to hundreds of you. People come up to me in the parks. My mods have become my closest friends. I’ve never met as many incredible people in my life as I have in the last two years.
To everyone who’s ever ridden with me — whether you help me do what I do or you simply show up and watch — thank you. You’ve changed my life for the better. I am so deeply, genuinely grateful for every friendship I’ve made here.
Thank you for two of the most unforgettable years of my life. Let’s keep swimming 🫶
